You might not see us on the rally. I have recieved a request to participate in a cross Canada fund raiser for returned soldiers and their families. I think that this is more important than enjoying a convoy run. I am still going to try to get down to meet you, as this is important to me. When I get the full details of the fundraiser, I will post them under a seperate thread. I know that our local Legion will be holding a benefit, and the whole event will be streamed on the internet.

Our truck is one of the most localy readily recognized symbols of the veterans, and is needed here. Local media is on board, so I guess I will be supporting my troops.

If I am able to break free on the Sunday, I will try to come down.

Make sure that you take a bunch of photos and videos, so I can kick myself for the fun that I missed.

Shucks Stan, was looking forward to seeing your truck but thats the way it goes and I can understand your priority in being there at your event. Hope you can be down one day anyhow if its possible. Take care and keep us posted. elk

Yes, I'm still a possibility.
And HWY 12 was what I was thinkin too.
So maybe.....
The problem is instead of welding things back together, I keep cutting more off, the one I want to bring tot he rally.

I guess if worse comes to worse I may be forced to drive the beater or the mog.

I'm out of state in July or I'd try and make it. In the mean time I'm trying to get an SF97 and get my truck registered in the next month. It has some work to do this spring and summer. Sounds like there are a few guys on the east side. If you see me chugging along in my A3 honk and wave.

New updates added to post #1!(convoy route)

We already have more MV's confirmed for the trip than we had last year! It looks to be a great time.

Still looking for more PNW'ers to sign up.

Thanks Aaron! I can't wait. Also, I thought it would be a good idea to bring up something we talked about yesterday. Aaron and I were talking about comms during the convoy last year and yesterday. The most economical and least cumbersome way to go is the use of the FRS/GRMS type radios for the convoy and parade. These are the little hand held two way radio's you can get at any hardware or electronic shops. Though they only have a range of about 1-2 miles, they should be adequate enough for our purposes. It would be good to have comms for several reasons. Let the MV operator in front of you of issues they may be having with their trucks, let everyone in front of you know of an emergency vehicle trying to get past us, emergency head calls, etc. I have used the Motorola Talk-abouts on all my MV recoveries. I highly recommend the use of an ear bud.
