i was wondering how much power i would looz by keeping tandems on my deuce and runnin 1600 20 mich x's.

im kinda debating on bobbing it or keeping it a 6x6 (using the 1600's)

Theres a lot of work involved to get 16's on a deuce in tandem. Even bobbed you have to lift the truck quite abit just to get tires that size under there. Un-bobbed you have to spread the rear axles apart.

Edit: Its possible Gimpy, anything is doable with time and money.

Those monsters would have to produce a massive drag on the motor.

AND....let's not forget STOPPING those massive tires!
That could be a hair-raising experience.
Going from my 9.00-20's to the 395's (46") on my bobber made a pronounced difference in braking.

I doubt youll have enough power to spin the tires in the mud to clean out the lugs

Edit: you posted before I could reply. Stock=not enough power. Turned up fuel, better but your not going to have near as much fun as the boys with the high horsepower big blocks.

i went to the red neck yacht club in florida and they had no bobbed deuces, only 6x6's
the tires werent any smaller than the 1600s. they never got suck but they slowed waaayyyyy down.

Well, if you have the time, I think a 500caddy motor transplant would really be a sweet ride. You get big cubes and much more rpm. The only thing about that swap is you would have an auto trans.

Oh well, if you are scared to be different...

If I had the time and wanted to build a mud truck, thats what I'd do. It isn't for everyone. Maybe you should ask the guys where you'll be taking it.
