I've been reading a whole lot, and there seem to be alot of good modifications to do to your deuce, but what would be the first modification that you believe would be the greatest benefit to you?

My first work (other than regular PM) was to get rid of that horrid slab of plywood the army calls a passenger seat!

My wife suggested politely that if we were to make any trips longer than 30 minutes, I should change it! I am still getting it lined up right, but I think its definitely going to be worth the time!

Air o matic was my fist mod. An in cab heater was the second. That was in addition to the stock heater. On sub zero days last winter I could still get to 65 deg. in the cab. The dog and I enjoyed it on snow drift adventures.

Yep! The truck now has dual springer seats in it!

I tried to use the holes from the bench seat, and it didn't quite line up right. So I'm off with a drill and a handful of bolts!

Dave
let me know how that works out, iv'e been thinking about doing that mod!

My first mod was changing the passenger bench to a springer.

The second was to replace the slats in the cargo racks/troop seats, but I guess that is maintenance, not a mod.

My next mod will be the remote brake fluid reservoir. I would like to check the level with a glance during pre-trips, without having to wrench it open.

I drive mine kinda often, I mounted charter bus seats on springer seat bases. It has been my favorite mod and the first mod I do to all my trucks. I have driven to Mi, Ga, Tn, Il, Nc, etc and have never had a sore backside. I once rode in a stock deuce to Ga. I will NEVER do that again.

Spin on filters, and getting a collant flush then installing a coolant filter as well.
after that what ever other responsible maintaince ideas i get,
after that, cup holders,
winch. then install some bumper trays in the space between the bumper and the front of hte truck. Perfect spot for a cooler or PTO powered blender.
