Having a bit of a challenge finding the correct placement of unit markings on my 71 A2.

He is what I have: 1st BN 182 D Field Artillery BTRY A from Detroit, MI

What would be the proper nomenclature be for the front bumper, left and right side, and the left and right rear bumperets?

I am going to order a decal package and want to do this correctly. Would I use Black or white? The truck is green. (Previous owner did a poor job of applying a partial camo job with house paint)!

Thank you in advance.

This site is an incredible source of very valuable information.

Right side (passenger) 1-182 F or 1-182 FA
Left side (driver) A XX (XX is the truck number)

What time period dictates how it was painted on. Current service would be tan block with black numbers/letters. Time period would also dictate which Division it was assigned to.
The Division would typically preceed the 1-182 F

A-? (whatever vehicle number. as a deuce it would most likely be a 4 or some other higer number other than a 5,6,7. someone with FA time could probably chime in to give an idea on what numbers were used by ammo trucks. also i think this unit is/was a towed 105mm FA unit so each cannon would have a truck.)

Depends on the time period. Currently it's an MLRS unit.
