Alright I bid on a lot of M998 wheels out at Wright pat, and I won.

The problem is Fast track logistics wants $455 to ship the lot to me.

Holy crap what do they band the wheels in gold?

They are already sitting on a pallet, I can't see it costing that much I figured $200 max. I mean I had Vidmar ship me a cabinet from Pennsylvania that weighed 600 lbs and it only cost $170 this lot weighs almost the same but cost nearly three times as much.

Anybody have suggestions? Can anybody provide assistance? What options do I have? I mean I could just pay the fee and the percent owed and tell GL I don't want them. Or pay the full amount and tell them to throw them in the scrap bin...

I find this ridiculous. If this is the norm I'm out of bidding...

The sad thing was I didn't even want them, I miss read the description and bid then realized later I made a mistake. Totally my bad but I was going to make it work till I got the ship estimate...

Thanks in advance.

Might be able to peddle them from the area too. Any details on them? Lots of different HMMWV rims. JW4x4 is in the area as well!

PM Gimpy or Docfarmall. Doc may be in the area soon. If someone can pick them up and you need a place to drop them for a spell have them bring them out to my place. I can put them inside depending on how many you got.

If you can't use them and they are not popular, you may want to bow out gracefully and eat the charge GL will hit you with.

Go to S3logistics they are freight brokers very reasonable you set up a billing acct. very easy not time consuming you will get quotes from five or six freight companies to choose from. I had three 6.2 engines shipped to me CO-IL 3500 pounds for the price your company wants to ship your wheels.

fwiw, they should only be used with the Humvee 36" bias ply tires. Not suitable for radials and or high tire pressures.

Well, not to disparage others, but... Mike from S3logistics is the company that is giving me trouble with my SC pickup. He billed me extra, said that it was picked up on Wednesday this past week and that he'd e-mail a tracking number. No e-mail, so I called the GL guy in SC. He said that it was not picked up, hasn't heard from anybody. I called Mike on both numbers, got his voicemail only, left a message. Still no reply. Not looking good.

The freight end of it usually goes by volume/weight. You have at least two pallets there, not one like you probably had in the cabinet. Also, the material type is a factor. Those rims should be a class 70.

Looks like you are about 1200 miles away. This contractor will have to charge a fee for going out to the base, looking at the load, making sure it is secured, and if not secure it properly for the shipment.

You should figure no less than $150 per pallet if you drop off at the freight terminal. Strangely enough, it is the same price if they pick it up at a commercial location where it has already been taken off base and paperwork with GL settled. It only costs more if picked up from a residence. Looks like your contractor was reasonable to me. They are only charging about $150 for packing and handling. They can't go out there for free, with labor and transportation cost and all.

I had a quote from Ft. Polk on one pallet for over $1300. Made my drive over those rough Louisiana roads worth while. Went over one that had a 30 mile long crack in it right down the middle of the lane. LOL

Its the freight company thats dropping the ball S3 is just a broker I only had one problem and it was the freight company who caused it I ship probably a hundred shipments a year through them if you have problems with them Mike isnt the person to get it straightened out. Email Joyce bates at jbates@MYFREIGHTWORLD.com she will help you out she is top notch and will get the problem remedied.

Ranchhopper, I'd like to believe you. The reason that I went with S3 was because of good reviews here, but... I booked him, not myfreightworld through uship. His was the contact number. He is the only person that I've talked to. He was the guy that took my AMEX # and charged more than our agreed to amount. He was the guy who told me that it shipped and that he'd forward a tracking #. He's the guy who hasn't replied to my calls after there's a problem. Also, just recently he has lots of bad feedback on the uship site. I hope that it all works out, and I'll certainly follow up with a favorable post if it does, but right now, it isn't looking too good.

Both quotes I got where for consolidation to one pallet...

The lots paid for I'll probably call next week to get this wiped and trashed. I'll talk to gimpyrobb first.

If anybody knows someone looking for these in the area have them pm me.
