Geared hub input seals - what direction?

I’ve been resealing my geared hubs and the wording in the TM has me scratching my head. For the input seals it says: 1. Using driver handle and input seal installer, install input seal (7) in drive gear retainer (4). Ensure radius on outer diameter of input seal (7) faces toward inside of...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Humvee initiation rites began today. Geared hub reseals and new ball joints, tie rods, etc. Also got my supplemental ground harness today too.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Today I converted it from a 2 door pickup to a NOS 4 man top from GMA. Definitely like the looks of it better with the 4 doors. Now I just need to track down rear seat bases and cushions. Before:

4 man top installation: What is the correct fastener for side rail?

Thank you all for the input! As others mentioned, the holes were worn larger and required a bigger set of fasteners. I used Rivnuts with bigger screws and it turned out nicely.

4 man top installation: What is the correct fastener for side rail?

Thank you - I guess the crux of my question is what does it screw into? One side has a 1/2”+ hole and the other side has a large coarse nutsert. If anyone has a good pic of their setup in this spot, it would be helpful.

4 man top installation: What is the correct fastener for side rail?

I am installing a GMA 4 man top kit and the existing hardware on my hmmwv is a mixed bag. I’m looking for advice on the correct fasteners for the side rail to the windshield frame. The catalog points to a 10-32 screw and well nut. What I disassembled was a #12 bolt and nutsert on the passenger...

Can Wrangler MT be changed without disassembling 2 piece wheel?

I stand here as a man who has now changed a hmmwv run flat tire. Exhausted haha. two or three things of note: - The cherry picker method worked awesome. Pulled everything apart no problem. See this video for reference - Feltz ratchet strap method worked fine for the run flat. Ratchet it as...

Can Wrangler MT be changed without disassembling 2 piece wheel?

Awesome, thank you! Better to figure that out now than halfway through it. I watched the video from Feltz tire where they show the process. Do you know if it’s okay to re use the big o ring between the halves?

Can Wrangler MT be changed without disassembling 2 piece wheel?

I’m getting ready to change a couple tires on my hmmwv. It has stock 12 bolt wheels and Wrangler MT tires. I have a Coats 60x tire changer and would prefer to dismount and mount these tires with the machine and a lever like you would on any other car or truck. Do these two piece wheels act like...

Searching for blower electrical schematic or trouble shooting guide

Thank you for the help with this. I went at it with the test light this morning and everything was as you described. No power in or out of the the switch so I checked the circuit breaker and it has power in but not out. A new circuit breaker is on the way! Hopefully that's the end of it and the...

Searching for blower electrical schematic or trouble shooting guide

The blower motor in my M1097R1 does not turn on. It will run if you apply power directly to it. I've been searching through the technical manuals for blower trouble shooting guide but I can't come up with anything. The only wiring diagram I could find (TM 9-2320-280-20-1 page 2-689) looks like...

    2007 M1097R1 Project - New member introduction

Interesting to hear all that about SECO. I searched their name on this forum and lots of people on other subforums here said they were reputable. I ordered the ball joints, tie rods, steering arms, and hub maintenance kits from them last night. I called this morning to ask if those parts are...

    2007 M1097R1 Project - New member introduction

Thank you both for the info! I'll look in that TM and see what they list for the ball joints. That's very helpful. Retiredwarhorses - Any specific facebook groups you'd recommend? I don't use facebook but I do have an account for marketplace.

    2007 M1097R1 Project - New member introduction

Good morning all, I recently purchased a M1097R1 3 speed 6.5 truck with a Washington title. I've always wanted a humvee since I was a little kid. This one has some miles on it, but really isn't in too bad of shape, especially considering what I paid for it. My goal is to address any safety and...
