maybe what I should have asked is ......how are the military trucks plumbed ?

Im looking at an all wheel drive 1996 autocar ACL that has a bad transmission....wonder if any of you fellas can give me a thumbnail explanation of how one would go about plumbing this truck to utilize its brakes while being flat towed by another air brake equipped truck - like is commonly...

yes - I know about Govt Planet - didn't know if they were taking over from Govt Liq or just another outlet......seems pricing starts a lot higher now and selection is a LOT less.

its been a while since Ive seen any pickup trucks or 5 ton and larger trucks for auction at the usual site - after so many months of so many for sale every week.....can anyone comment on the situation - is this a temporary thing or is uncle sam out of the used truck business ?

Looking at HETs and like except the 45mph / low mpg....looks like the transfer case is reduction unit in both high and low and axles have reduction that Im not really sure that I understand....
below are specs that I would like for someone knowledgable to comment on - Im wondering if a direct...
here in New York anything towed - that has unladened weight over 1000# or gvw over 3000# requires properly operating brakes - imagine other stated have similar laws
a steering tag axle mounted behind the tandems would be pretty trick - especially if it could be raised and lowered as required like a m920
I suspect if you mounted the new rear steering axle and set the caster angle somewhere around the same as the front steering axle and put a decent size...
Wreckerman - looks like your mods will do the job for a lightly loaded trailer - but you might want to either paint that rear frame some bright /reflective color or add some kind of warning lights (side and rear)......even a 2x4 hanging out of a pick up bed needs a red flag - so someone doesn't...
