Joaquin & Casa just checking in!

Hey! Good to hear from you again. Glad to see the rig still rolling along. Never did put a camper on the bigford. Put a dropside cargo on instead.

    Replacement Air Governor for M931

The gasket is used for direct mounting the gov to a compressor. The gov pictured can be remote mounted like yours or direct mounted on the compressor if the holes are there.

M923a1 front axle in the rear

Just a quick rear-steer comment: I've had 2 trucks with that ability. One ran 2.5s and the other runs 5s. For the street the rear must be locked or prevented from steering. I have used a 1" pin through the steering arm on both with success. The pin is driven in and out with a small air cylinder...

    hydraulic winch drive question

I'm looking for the length of the hydraulic drive unit for the 5 ton winch. I'm putting the winch on the bigford and prefer the hydro drive over the mechanical; just don't know if I have the room to spare up front. The length from the input shaft cover to the back of the drive would be great...

    Upgrade to Aftermarket Transfercase

I picked up used 138 for the bigford after backing up with the sprags in forward one day. "New" case seemed ok but resealed / gasketed it. It never seemed to release the front drive soI pulled it. In the front section where the front shaft rides in the front drive gear, I found the shaft had...

    800 t-case question

Thanks for your input Toby. I did find the breakdown in the TM, but the bearing seems to disappear from one frame to another. No worries though. Reassembly set for tomorrow provided the rain holds off. I'm going to put the big cover on and then press the bearing back in. The bore taper is on the...

    800 t-case question

I bought another t-case (138) and was going through it to make sure all was well; checking the sprags, replacing the seals and gaskets etc. I started to remove the large cover (the front drive was already off) according to the TM and could not get the input shaft to slide out of the bearing. I...

    5 ton disc brakes

discs and calipers I've been working on this for my truck. Steve is correct on his caliper suggestion in my opinion. I have tried several that are in the correct weight range for the axle and the 4 piston ones fit the space available the best. There are several rotors out there with the...

    5 ton disc brakes

You might try Gearhart Engineering (I think that's it) They have a kit that looks good in my opinion for what you want to do with it.

Derrick that measurement is 16 inches as close as I can get it. Now for the disclaimer: mine is a 13 speed in a '79 F700. The frames are the same width. I have 5 ton axles under my truck and you may get an idea of how everything lines up from the pic. Too bad you are so far away. I'm game for...

Swapping in a front axle into the rear

I'm on my second truck with rear steer, the first was street legal, and the second one will be when I'm done. It is a fun upgrade. Right now I have only a single rear axle, but have worked out the details for adding another rear. It would require the middle axle to be able to alter the ackerman...
