The cab steel is 1/8.I used it because it is more supportive to bolt items to and doesn't warp as bad as lighter metals with welding and cutting.

All of the Peterbilt doors are the same or similar as I recall. It takes a lot of work to remove them from the old cab and the cab is pretty much destroyed afterward but in the long run used ones are cheaper if you price all the individual pieces.

Making lots of progress. All the inner skeleton built and welded out.Outer skins on and ready for window openings.Welding outer skins in place.Installed a recess for the exhaust stack and air intake piping.
