I love the truck! Its my adventure rig, hunting, fishing, cruising around, my favorite wheeled machine.
drove it to montana and back last fall on an elk hunt 5500 miles in a month. only problem was a blown u joint. Duct tape and a ratchet strap got my to the nearest oreillys!
Awesome to hear...
I can try to find a test light in the shop tomorrow. If the small wire is always getting power that would indicate to the relay being bad correct? Or some serious short somehwere...
I noticed the relay was newer so I wasn't compelled to change it immediately. Yes it still had the 6TLs, they are...
I just removed the starter bracket this evening as I dropped the starter after the first episode to visually check and see if it had caught on fire or something. I shoul've looked better at the solenoid. Not sure how to specifically test the solenoid. I tried cranking it without putting the...
If I connect the batteries the truck will not start cranking until I turn the key, i can then turn the key off and remove it and it keeps cranking.
Could this be a stuck solenoid? For some reason I though a stuck solenoid would crank right when the negative gets reattached to the battery. Am I...
Earlier this year I my 09 struggled with slow cranking. Cleaned bus bar connections, put a new DB electric starter in it, and put new batteries in it. I figured I was going to do it eventually why not do it all at once! I bathed in awesome starting glory until yesterday.
Turned the key and all...
Awesome pictures thanks, if I had a trailer I would use one. Ill add that to the list of things I need. If I do end up flat towing it, I will definitely disconnect the rear DS.
Ye I wouldnt be expecting to pass much of anything. In terms of handling and braking safley though I shouldnt have a problem? I havent ever flat towed before so I wanted to make sure.
Hey yall, currently I have an 09 that I drive daily and all around.
Anyhow I miss my 08 for a work truck and for pulling farm eq around when needed. I am thinking about finding me another m1008 in better condition than my previous one. Has anyone had any experience flat towing their m1009 with...
Yessir! Still has the Silent armors on it. The spare in the back still has nubbies on it too. They probably have about a 1/4" tread left on them. Have worn very evenly. I am driving the truck on a hunting trip to Montana from Ohio this September so I have some brand new rubber in the barn that...
There he is! I was wondering where the cream colored paint had come from when I repainted it with Rapco 383 a month ago. So it was at one point a police truck. Neat! do you have any idea how many miles were on the odometer when you had it in your possession? I just rolled 90K...
If it is unlocked, you should be able to lower the tailgate, remove the access panel, roll "up" the window and remove the crank and lock assembly. Once removed you will be able to remove the locking mechanism by removing the half moon clip if I remember correctly from changing mine out 2 months ago.
Awesome! cant wait to see them.
Truck is holding up good, I got the truck from Goshen Indiana. Door corners has a little rust that I too care of by welding in a small patch and painting. the Line X is great from what I can tell, no rust issue for me at all now. Im replacing the harmonic...
