I agree and suggested putting it back to the 24volt setup. The owner is not against doing so. It's just to difficult to be a 3rd party monkey in the middle from 2000 miles away. The owner is not a mechanic and I sold him this truck 15 years ago. He was supposed to bring it to me to go through...
Are your glow plugs functioning? A cold 6.2 will not start without them. Just a thought. From what I read you have fuel to all the right places. Second issue in my mind is injector pump bad or check valve stuck.
My buddy has a M1009 near Aztec NM. He has a young man trying to fix it for him and is having trouble. It's my understanding he is trying to convert it to 12volt it was having alternator issues. If there is anybody in the area that is willing to help shoot me a PM and I'll get you the contact...
Have you asked around on the G741 site? A few years back there was a gal out east restoring one of these. It seems like she had a couple more for parts. I will see what I can dig up.
Just a friendly bump for some fresh weekend eyes. Anybody know where some rims off a 8x8 are laying? Andrew has some ideas using Dayton rims so we shall see.
There used to a be a person on here that owned one of them but that has been a few years ago. There has been two that I have seen auctioned off on GL.. Very unique truck has a different transmission also if I recall correct.
Do you have any close up pictures of the rims/wheels for your truck Bjorn? What's the availability of them? Hens teeth? I am wondering if they could be modified to work on Andrews truck. A few of his are in real bad shape.
No need to be sorry...lol.. I just recall allot of the early trucks from when they switched from gassers to diesel were the 427 and never looked at the tag. The inside of cranetrucks drums are interesting. I wonder whats inside yours?
