It would be nice if GL would give a longer lead time on auctions. If you knew that something cool was coming up in the next few months, preparations could be made. I didn't even know the military was sending 900A2 series trucks to surplus.
The rear shackle flip can be done using new mounts from ORD or Sky Manufacturing if looks are a concern. I am a believer in function over form so I use the flip with beefed up mounts. I don't add-a-leaves+blocks because of the stiffer ride and axle wrap.

1) The truck in the photos may not be the actual truck
2) More forklift damage will happen to the truck
3) Parts will be missing that were present in the photo

I worked with 5606 and 83282 when I was in the USAF and I believe some of these fluids had fire-suppresant additives. Look up the MSDS on the 5606 to be certain.
Is anyone around Sante Fe that can inspect the M1009 that is coming up on GL? I can see it is missing batteries, rear taillight, and the rear window but I bet there is more missing.

If you are trying to get a pitman arm to loosen it's death grip on the steering box output shaft, try the torch. Last time I had the same problem so I heated up the arm and used a air-chisel with a pickle fork attachement. It came right off.
I would leave it bolted with grade 8 bolts. The shear strength of those bolts should hold up fine. I would leave this as the weakest link (if it actually is) as it is easier to repair than a bent spindle/axle/???
