    2wd SM465 to 4wd mated to a NP208

Unfortunately I live in an apartment so I can't buy a whole parts truck... I will have to start going to the local junkyards and see what I can dig up... Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    2wd SM465 to 4wd mated to a NP208

I think I am going to wait and find a 4x4 SM465... I can still buy the pedals, bell housing, and shifter... I can at least get a start on collecting the parts required to do the swap. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    2wd SM465 to 4wd mated to a NP208

Did the 465 ever come attached to a 208? Can I find the adapter at a junkyard? Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    2wd SM465 to 4wd mated to a NP208

I have a M1009 and I want to put a SM465 in it. The 465 came from a 2wd truck. My question is, do I need to get an adapter to mate it to the 208. I know that the 465's output shaft will have to be changed from the long 35 spline to a short 32 spline. I have searched several forums and I have not...

    M1009 front hub gets Warm

Here are some pics of the laser temp meter... Is this temp to high? The 143 is drivers side and the 136 is pass side. This is after 30-40 min of city traffic. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Any of you guys have your m1009 setup for Overlanding?

I am in the process of doing the same thing to my M1009. I love the comms stack! I have a similar setup in my retired police car that I might use. But first on the list is reliability. I need to get the front steering components replaced. It's not unsafe but needs to be addressed before I can go...

    M1009 front hub gets Warm

Hahaha love the AC/DC reference... Also I did use this method and I have done bearings like this for many years when I was in the Marines... So, I would say that the bearings were packed properly. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    M1009 front hub gets Warm

Yes I packed the bearings very well and put quite a bit inside the hub as well. I did torque both the bearing nut and the retaining/lock nut to spec. When I tried rotating the tire by hand it did not want to spin freely. So I took no the nuts off and retightned them but not as tight as the...

    M1009 front hub gets Warm

Thank you. It was getting HOT before I changed the bearings on the drivers side. It no longer gets as hot but still gets quite warm. The bearings that came out were purple because of the heat... I just wasnt sure if they were supposed to get warm or stay at ambient temp.
