I do and it's cut into three pieces so it would have to be welded back together. It's going to be a bugger to ship. Probably at least $75 to $100. I really don't want to fool around with Fastenal unless I just drop it off and buyer takes care of shipping coordination.
Thanks. I FINALLY got it mounted last night. I don't want to ever have to do that again! It was tough, very tight fit. Swingarm bolts were a pain as well as taking the caliper off. I realized AFTER I took both bolts off I probably could have just loosened the top caliper bolt instead of...
Reviving this thread. Installing mine. I have the flexible lines sold by mile marker. I too struggled with the bolts the control arms until I read here how to remove them as well reversing the heads to the rear. I struggled trying to mount it on the brackets. It wouldn't fit between the two...
I concur with Sharecropper. I've got a rebuilt heavy duty 700r4 that's holding up just fine. This is an ongoing debate. Is it as bullet proof as a 4L80E, IDK but so far I'm having zero issues and mine ain't a garage queen. It's a daily driver. Granted I haven't done anything serious but if...
Hey Alpine, did the same thing with mine. I'd like to pick your brain on the lockup you did so I can do the same. Also on the list is the temp gauge. I have a gauge but that's about as far as I've gotten with that. Also, about re routing the oil coolant lines, I'll need to check in to what you...
Feel free to do so. I'm enjoying the heck out of mine. My complete rebuilt transmission and xfer case was $1,800 shipped. I don't even want to tell how much I paid to have it put in but I didn't want to try and do it myself as I don't have a lift. My luck I would have squashed my head with...
UPDATE: 700R4 installed and running down the road
UPDATE report: Got my 700R4 in with a few hitches but overall not that big of a deal. I had my mechanic install a 700R4 with heavy duty clutches and spline (rebuilt by Action Automotive out of Missouri but I'd be careful if you decide to order...
It depends on what your meaning of "better" is. Yes as far as a more robust trans but no as far as cost and if you want to stay away from electronics and have a dumb trans. I prefer dumb and I'm only looking for grocery getter not offroading really.
Update: The part number FRA143 flexwheel had the correct hole pattern for my 3 hole torque converter. And just for the record, it's a 6.2 diesel I'm not converting from gas to diesel or vice versa. Still same motor. Drive shaft had to be shorted a bit, 1.75" or so. Small bracket adapter...
I went to Napa and they gave me BK 600541. Based on the research I've done, I believe I need BK 600542. I hope that's right because my mechanic is going to kill me if it isn't. It's holding up his lift. I know this sounds silly but I printed both pic's out and lined them up in the light and...
Ran into a snag on my conversion. The flexplate on mine is a six bolt pattern and it's not lining up with the three bolt hole on the converter. Any suggestions? Thanks.
