    Fuel shut off solenoid Bad?

wow that's years old and I don't know what thread that was from. It worked fine and it's still working fine. It could just have been a piece of dust or something, if it doesn't do it again then smile and leave it be. You can also tap them to free them up if they stick.

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

I don't like to see long threads about repairs go un-resolved. I received my pump rebuilt again and everything was fine. Truck is running great, starting great, and is all nice and legal again. I have learned a lot about the db2 stanadyne injection pump. I have a perfect running 1028 at just...

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

Hi CUCVRUS, I already picked up a decent set of used lines. I think they will be fine. As promised here are comparison pics of the old lines v the new lines. I didn't know any better when installing them. They were pretty much as they appear now when I put them on. I am sure that my brute force...

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

Hey, I was out of town for a week and weather and stuff. I had the afternoon today and decent weather. The leaks are not from the lines. I inspected running and off. I also wrapped lines in paper towel to try to isolate a line. None of the lines are leaking. The pump is leaking between the...

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

Sorry, I have edited and didn't mean to offend. I am leaning towards pressure testing through the returns into the tank to better observe where the leak is from. I will call DCP prior to testing to validate that. If that test is valid and passes, then I am onto hunt for new fuel tubes. I was...

And I am back.... the leak continues.... Last episode I tightened one remaining line and the leaking stopped. I ran the truck for about an hour, no leaks. Ran it for a 1/2 hour later that night. No leaks. I replaced the intake and zipped everything up a couple days later when weather permitted...

it was one of the bottom lines, the one at the 6:30 position. I went through all of them again and that one still had some turn left. All checked out and leak free. Sorry for the panic attack !! Thanks!

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

Thanks. I am not giving up by any means but this thing has stretched my patience. I am "in there" as I have the intake removed, pump installed and running. I can see what's going on with a mirror. I have used a trouble light as well as using a high power flashlight. I am going to keep seeing...

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

Yeah, well I am back. I can't get this pump to stop leaking. It appears to be leaking from the 5/16 hard pipes. I put these buggers on as tight as I could on the bench. Now it's mounted and I am on there with crow's feet and all kinda swivel and stuff and a breaker bar. Every one of them suckers...

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

Okay folks.... Thanks again for everyone's help esp CUCVRus. The new pump arrived last Saturday and work/weather prevented work until today. The pump is in and it is running great. I haven't put the intake back yet as still checking for leaks and stuff. Diesel Performance treated me great...

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

I think the 4544 is what supercedes most of the CUCV IP's. I think that's what they will build it to, but I will have a call with them in the new year to be sure. We were talking part numbers and the rep from DC was talking supercedes numbers also, so I am pretty sure it I had this...

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

Alright, well here we are today....... I have checked and verified proper operation of fast idle solenoid and cold idle timing. The system now holds prime and will start pretty fast next day. I had 32* temps and there was plenty of fuel and fire. The only problems I am having is that once it...

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

Wife command did not approve Christmas under the hood :) Just finally got her started without intake. The high idle is hunting between 875-925 or so but once the temp kicks up it smooth out perfect. I found a couple leaks at the IP and tightened them up. Will now test that it holds prime and...

Pump is timed, just needed leverage to turn it. Lift pump installed, 1 hose yet to replace underneath and put the alternator back on. Have batteries charging overnight and will start it tomorrow for Christmas! Hope I have been nice this year :)
