Wrecker front winch cable fiber core ?

I need one for my wrecker too, I found cable for tow trucks on ebay. Supposedly american made, but the price is leaving me wondering, about $340 for 250 feet.... seems really cheap. Then I went on oshkosh's site and almost fell over, $6.00 per foot is insane.

    Just Bought a wrecker!

So Ive had my deuce for about 3 years now, and always wanted a wrecker. Saw one on craigslist and decided to buy. 1973 M543a2 LDS Needs a lot of work, mostly the cab and some rust repair. Brakes do not work, Pretty sure the master is at fault. The big problem is electrical. The master...

    816 Crane hydraulic lines

Surplus center sells good hose very cheap! I replaced all my lines on my dynahoe, and forklift for less than $350, 4 years ago with zero problems. Napa hose came apart in 4 days on the 19' 5,000lb backhoe dipper...

Tires, can it really be this hard??

By far the best mod I did was 395's on MRAP wheels... The stock ndcc's did ok in mud on the rear, the front would always sink... The 395's float a little better in the front now. On sand, dirt/snow/asphalt there is absolutely no comparison. I used to get stuck plowing with the ndcc's in...

    A Rising Phoenix: Proposed Re-Purpose

I really didn't want to hijack his thread, I build all sorts of stuff, cranes, dump beds, 44' trailers, race cars. I don't know where an appropriate place to post crane pictures, etc on here. I'm new here! :)

My deuce with a 12' plow and dump.

Previous owner said the Air Force had, and it was used to plow the runways. It's mounted to the bumper bolts on top, sits against the bumper, and then 2 diagonal braces from the bottom back to the frame 2.5' back from the bumper. I'll take some pics.

    A Rising Phoenix: Proposed Re-Purpose

I built a mini crane for my pickup, sits in the passenger tail corner of the bed, 3"x18" piston, 5'-8' extension. Harbor freight 2,000 pound winch line doubled with a snatch block. I picked up an 1800 lb surface grinder and placed it in the bed, no out riggers at all on a Chevy 2500 hd. That...

My deuce with a 12' plow and dump.

I've been a lurker for years, a member for a little while and decided to post some pictures of my shop truck. its a 1972 m35a2c, whistler, dropside at one point, was fitted with a plow and a dump by the local base for plowing the runways. (Has the signal identification for runway lights in the...
