roll call of EXISTING Vietnam gun trucks

FYI; for those of you in and around Colorado, the Denver auto show is from April 4 thru 8 and my group, the Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado, had been asked to have a display of historic military vehicles as part of the show this year. This is a first and we are pleased to be able to...

    Denver Auto Show

For those of you in Colorado, the Denver auto show is April 4 thru 8. The Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado will have a display of historic military vehicles in the main hall. I am bringing my Vietnam tribute gun truck "Grim Reaper", from the 4th ID, which is currently stationed at Ft...

roll call of EXISTING Vietnam gun trucks

I re-read the original posting of the gun truck list by Maddog308 and it seems my truck should be considered a replica, not a tribute, since it closely follows an actual truck. I got the two terms mixed up. Anyway, the list currently shows a M35 Grim Reaper as a tribute. Is that another M35...

Fort DA Russel Days, Cheyenne Wyoming

I see you braced your 50 cal mounts off the side wall of the gun box. I built a post mount centered in the rear of the gun box, per the original Grim Reaper 4th ID gun truck from Vietnam. I braced the post with three diagonal braces bolted to the floor of the box, per the standard 50 cal post...

    War Wagon

Nice job on the 50 mounts. My truck has one 50 and I went the same way as you. Found the same problems with my resin 50. I also cleaned up the resin casting details and then repainted it with some Brownell's Aluma-Hyde II parkerizing grey paint. Looks much better than the factory paint job...

Any Gun Trucks in Western U.S.?

Yesterday we finished the last thing on my tribute gun truck, the 44ST Grim Reaper, painting the image of the grim reaper on each side. The truck has a 50 cal and two M60 guns in the box. It is a faithful recreation of the original truck. I will be bringing it to the Veteran's Day parade in...

    M2 equaliberator mount tech data

I went with a resin M2 and two Airsoft M60s. Seemed like a cost efficient way to go. Each one took a little extra work to make them better. The M2 I worked on cleaning up some of the casting details, fitting it to the equilibrator mount and then repainted it with Brownells for a more authentic...

    M2 equaliberator mount tech data

Thanks. My condolences on your loss. My truck is just about done and I will take it to the Vet's day parade in Colorado Springs. It has been a pretty intense build effort over the past few months. I was able to get the correct hood numbers from James Lyles, the author of books about gun...

    A&K M60VN Modification help

Guys; I am in the process of making two M60 mounts for my Vietnam gun truck (4 4ST Grim Reaper) and am using the same mount as you with the front hook and two rear spring clips. Thankfully you are ahead of me so I can learn from what you did. I used 3/16" plate for the two side pieces on the...

    M2 equaliberator mount tech data

I bought a copy of TM9-1005-245-14 which had an exploded view, parts list and some descriptions but if you have more info I'd appreciate a copy of it. I tore apart and rebuilt my equilibrator mounts but it would be good to check everything is right. I think you have my email address from our...

Go to www.mvcconline.org home page and click on Newsroom, then link to gun truck conversion. Right now I am doing a number of minor touches and putting together...
