You should mount a crane on the back. Just about the only way you could get a "patient" up in that thing!

Mine is just about done. I was driving it for a couple days, then had some turbo problems and some injection pump problems, but it drives and rides very, very nicely.
Some of those old crackerbox's had v12 gassers. This is a different style truck, but I would not be surprised if it had the same motor.

I think you are looking at the wrong kind of sleeve.
That sleeve you bore out the block, press in the sleeve, then machine the sleeve. This is a "dry sleeve" and needs to be done in a machine shop.
What people complain about with the 3116 is it is not a "wet sleeve". In a "wet sleeve" motor...

They are actually very common. The 5.9 was used in some of the Freightliner FL series and the Ford F650-750 trucks, along with others. These trucks used regular medium duty transmissions, both automagics and manuals, in the SAE 2 bellhousing flavor.
