Anybody out there have a sugestion on what type of primer is best for troop seat wood? I plan to use the same enamel I used on the truck. Can I use the same primer? The primer I'm using is a red oxide primer (napa brand) and the enamel OD is Gillespie from Rapco.
Thanks in advance,
Joe
I have been told that only the early m37's (0nly those made in 1951) had the slots for a strap. Anyone with slots on a later truck? Mine was made Dec 1951 and has slots. I found bumpers that were close to originals in McMaster Carr, but you have to buy large quantities.

Thanks everyone. I believe the one I bought is the shouldered unit Bill W spoke about. I'll try to find a flat one.
At the risk of sounding computer stupid, I could use a little more help. What is the procedure for posting pictures on this forum? There have been a couple of times I should...
Well, I need more help. I purchased a first aid kit that I thought was correct for my early M37. It won't fit. Does anyone have pictures or dimensions of the first aid kit that was mounted in early M37's on the passengers side seat bottom? The first aid kit I bought keeps the door from closing...
Does anyone know why some M37 trucks have hood handles while others don't? Was there a production change? Is the handle normally found on early or late trucks? Just curious!
Thanks,
Joe
Noodlehead,
Are you going to leave the truck orange with black trim, I like the look??? Also, it's your truck you can call it anything you want - flat fender what ever!!!!!!
Joe
Redpawn,
Try a search in Hemmings Motor News (classifieds). I think Rowlands Antique Auto Parts can help you (509)829-5026. Wiperman.com did mine, but I believe he quit doing wiper motors. I think the new rebuild kits that are available are made with modern materials and should last longer...
Only my opinion, but there are still trucks out there that need a lot less work for a little more money. I would shop a little more. This truck is probably a better parts truck.

Thanks Carter, I'll start at 14" and see what it looks like.
What I really need is the length of the larger diameter tube (the one with the compression nut). Can anyone tell me this length?
Thanks,
Joe
Hey Guys,
I have several mirror arms from various vehicles. Can anyone tell me the length of the main arm part (from bolt hole to compression nut) for the M37:?: I would like to install the correct arm.
Thanks,
Joe
