I know it's an old thread but what size pin did you go with ..... Standard trailer hitch pin or did you make the 2 tubes a bigger hole to accommodate the original size pin? Seems like the smaller trailer hitch pins would give a bit of slop and not be as strong.
Contrary to what people say about stiff springs, I find that the ride is comparable to factory given how high it sits. Rides nice. Not bouncy stiff but I can see where the crossover steering would help when you are hitting potholes and bumps. Off-road not too sure as I haven't had time to see...
So the lift went on great and like the end result. I got 7" front and 5.75" rear to be exact. Looks exactly level. Think the front shaft would bind with enough flex, length is not an issue. Drove it for a hundred miles and tires feel cool .... Does anyone have an opinion on an alignment and...
So I wonder if one goes with any sort of rear modification re-man add a leaf to the rear of the M1008, they will send you a center bolt long enough to accommodate a K30 leaf pack and not an M1008 pack?? Just thinking as some kits come with a rear block and add a leaf to accomplish lift height...
Well the more I read, some people do and some people don't lengthen the front shaft. Some people use the t-case cross member drop brackets or the likes of, and some do not. I suppose there are many variables, and most likely dealing with a used truck so tough to know the history. Could be...
I think the crossover steering and new rear spring pack will be on my wish list for 2016. I understand the crossover steering requires a 2WD steering box and I can imagine those aren't cheap. Everything seems so expensive these days. Got my 6" Rough Country lift and am going to install this...
Right on! I totally agree, outa sight outa mind. I might pop over to the local Napa tomorrow if time permits and see if they have an inline power disconnect switch doomahickie that I could paint up or try and conceal a bit somehow. If not I can just make my own. Anything to slow someone down...
I was reading something about putting an in-line disconnect switch to the PURPLE (?) wire on the injection pump? Will still crank but not fire. Likely fry your starter after crack head rides the starter for 20 minutes.
What at about putting an in-line power disconnect off one of the...
Just researching to see if anyone has done an install on an anti-theft toggle switch that will disable the vehicle from being started should a thief decide he wants to take your truck home with him one day.
I'm thinking something under the hood in an inconspicuous place non visible to a thief...
From what I understand a 5" kit will clear 37x12.5x16.5 Goodyears on OEM wheels with no trimming. A 4" kit will also clear them with minor inner fender trimming. You can also push the front D.60 ahead 1" to help on the 5" with inner fender clearance via ORD
each brand of 37"'s will fit...
Well I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 6" Rough Country kit today with steering lift block, 4" rear block, front springs, new 4" over factory brake lines, and el-cheapo shocks and rear add a leaf for 6ish.
...... I know, I know. Rear blocks suck but I really got a good price on the...
Fantastic information! 8 degrees is a lot .... I've never looked at it that way. I think the biggest shim I have ever used was 4 degrees and that was on a pretty big lift with blocks and leaves combined. I had a 2001 Dodge Ram 24 valve normal cab with the 7" long arm kit and you wanna talk...
