    New Trailer - M101A2

Sits pretty nose high fully extended. About 28" to the bottom of the lunette.

    New Trailer - M101A2

Loaded up again. Beautiful day of 40* and rain.... Springs are holding tough. I'm sure I split & loaded dam(n) close to a full cord into the trailer.

    M105A2 electric over hydraulic actuator

Perhaps not on the M105 as you said - I don't know the trailer in detail... This spring I priced out electric components for my M101A2, It was around $300 for new electric drum assemblies, full trailer wiring harness and breakaway kit with battery. I elected to fix my surge brakes for far...

    M105A2 electric over hydraulic actuator

I'm not sure what the fitting is for brake assembly on your existing axle, but why not convert to full electric brakes?

    New Trailer - M101A2

Well I added a nice budget improvement this week. It's almost embarrassing to put such a cheap peice of Chinese junk on this heavy American trailer... But I'm a sucker for a bargain and for $25 (with a 20% off coupon) I couldn't resist. Dual wheel jack from harbor freight. Perfect height and...

    New Trailer - M101A2

Thanks, i have seen them there... After using the trailer a bit, I'm not sure I'd really need it, I can't get it to tip when unhooked with my weight which is really what I was concerned with.

    New Trailer - M101A2

I used mainetrailerregistrations.com.... in both instances I have only needed to email copy of the bill of sale, they have a template on their site. What's nice is that you deal with them directly.... Not the state motor vehicle dept.

    New Trailer - M101A2

And the brakes are back in action.... I had the (seemingly) common leaky shock in the surge coupler causing violent braking. So I ordered a replacement from etrailer a few weeks ago and got it installed, very easy I'd guess 30 minutes and nice smooth braking. Here's a few shots I took along...

    New Trailer - M101A2

Update on some improvements. I was able to get my hands on some smaller 'previously enjoyed' tires in 225/75/16. Here's a comparison of the standard issue 235/85/16 vs the smaller 225/75/16. They gave me an effective 2" drop which has got the trailer leveled perfectly. This is with 2...

    New Trailer - M101A2

It's a VERY easy process, I have a few trailers registered this way.

Virginia state safety inspection - what do they look for?

I think you'll also need amber clearance lights on the trailer in front of the axle somewhere to be fully legal. Every commercially produced trailer I've owned had these....but my m101a2 does not. Liscence plate illumination might be another one they could get you on... They may not even...

    New Trailer - M101A2

After months of looking, I finally picked up a trailer, I was waiting for the right one and hopefully this will be it. Not doing anything really fancy here, but I needed a good all-purpose utility trailer. It came complete with racks, bows & vinyl cover all in serviceable shape. The 116A2...

    7" Receiver Riser Question

And the answer is.... Drumroll please....... The 7 1/2" riser + pintle in the top holes, gets you an effective lunette height 2.5-3" higher than the center of your receiver. Thanks to all those who played.

    7" Receiver Riser Question

Yes, you are right on - there's 5.25" of adjustment in 3 choices (top, middle or bottom). but Bottom may actually place the lunette resting point lower than the center of the receiver, I cannot tell this without having both the riser and pintle together.
