I would love to have an engineering drawing of these with dimensions if you were willing to share it but if not I understand. Great job on making these!!!
Just saw this post, glad you sorted the problem, was gonna say sounds like a speed switch issue to me. Glad my post helped you out!!!! And always thank you Guy your knowledge is incredible on these units!
So mine burned up during the wildfires here in ca, I bought an AVR voltage regulator and popped it in under 30 minitrs and it works great have never looked back. Lefy everything else there so somebody really motivated could make it stock if they really wanted to. If you want more details on...
Wow resurrected this thread from the grave.
Well as far as not being able to excite the field due to the stater engaging after the set is running makes me think there is clearly a problem with your engine speed lock out switch. So if ya look on the left side of the engine you will see this...
You probably could if you pain stskingly fed the forks through the holes and then jacked it up all the way. A pallet jack basically has two low profile poly wheels at the ends of the forks on a pivot arm that is actuated by the main hydraulic cylinder at the back that pushes down on the set of...
I just went throigh similar issues however mine was a starting issue. There are three switchs inside that thing that control starter lock out feild flash and overspeed. The over speed one is a normally closed and when tripped opens and is not spring loaded. That button that resets it simply...
No worries, SOrry to hear its a rough separation keep your head up.
Thanks so much for the pictures have a much better idea of what it is now. You don't happen to have a set of calipers do you? Would be great to get dimensions of each step as well as diameter of the hole and its location in...
Wow so all the power for the 24v system was moving through the throttle cable that is some terrible grounding issues. Perhaps the starter fried the cable most of the way and then it just sore of broke from vibration. Werid a lot of current must have moved through that cable.
Glad you found the...
wow I would have never expected that either. So maybe I am just naive but what happened? WE have 2 1000 gallon diesel tanks on the vineyard and fuel sits in them for easily 1 -2 years between refueling and fuel in the tanks always seems fine.
So you had diesel sitting in the injection pump...
This was what I was worried about noted a bit of play in mine although think I had it way to tight so much so it was tracking the belt off the crank pulley. So I loosened it up just enough to turn the water pump and alternator seems fine now. Although if I turn the fan it will slip and not turn...
won't ship to Cali!!
Why does it feel like every day there are more and more reason to leave if the weather just wasn't so freaking great here. aua
Great unit I have an 005a pretty much the same just two more cylinders and a bit more poop.
Any way my shutter control assembly was also heavy corrosion are you referring to the thermal control that moves the shutters? or the manual lever that does it? If its the thermal control these don't...
:ditto: and there are brand new ones on the giant auction site that starts with e ends with y for about 170 dollars if you need one. Tempted to buy one as a spare myself.
I have a mep 003a and its anything but a POS Its the set I have had the longest (past 18 years). Last year it powered my house for 7 days straight, during the California wildfires 167 hours running around the clock to keep well-pumping water to spary down our yard and house. Burned through 3...
