I have four 101-A3 trailers I mounted hitches on the back of two of them you can pull in tandem just fine as long as you load the first one kind of heavy and leave the rear one pretty much empty. What size is the tubing you're making the space block out of? 3" X ? X 3/8 ?

Well I thought I should use solid blocks, so yeah I think the inserts are a good idea. Even if they are overkill if they prevent a catastrophic failure they were well worth the work. Think about all the lift blocks you've seen for 1/2ton pickups they are usually solid or are built like a masonry...

That looks pretty good so far, for some reason I was thinking I needed to use solid blocks for the spacers and I was going to use 5/8 flat bar for the bottom plates, I'll probably still use 5/8 or 3/4 for the bottom but I like the square tubing idea for some reason I hadn't really considered it...

Hmm, be careful I think the nuts torque to like 375 ft·lb. I was gonna use 5/8 or 3/4 plate. Just sayin!!

What did you come up with for the bottom retaining plate? The plate the nuts tighten against?

I don't have any armored vehicles and I ended up with these years ago, the thick glass on the exterior exposed section is cracked on both scopes but the other lenses are intact and usable. I don't know anything about what vehicles they went in and I have no use for them and I don't want to sell...

Btw you can get a led replacement bulb to fit the armored housings. Not sure of quality, they are 12 volt so you will need to wire them in series to use 24 volts...

I'm winging it too, I know what I want to end up with and I know I can fabricate anything I need but I'm still new to these trucks and still learning, I have done alot of research and spent lots money on parts and crap to customize my truck but I'm way behind the curve on these things.
