Pre-Buy jitters, Reliability nightmare horror stories... Please Help.

You will hear the fan kick out(won't sound like an airplane). Timer lasts for 20 seconds.

    6 c-2298 boxes possible on VIC-1?

So here is my delimma. Yes I searched all 39 pages without a single thread related to my issue. In a HMMWV there are naturally 4 seating positions, however after installing a jump seat on the tunnel it adds two more seats. I know how to wire the VIC-1 for 4 positions but was wondering if it was...

You put the engine to wide open throttle by mashing the pedal momentarily. This starts the time delay function temporarily disabling the fan.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Yes you can run a 12v winch. You need to run a minimum of a 4 gauge charging cable from the 14v tap on the alternator to the positive terminal of the rear battery first. Then you will connect the positive cable from the winch to the positive terminal of the rear battery as well. This will keep...

I'll put it in trucker perspective for you. If you are comfortable with the maintenance costs of say a mid 80's Pete 379 then maintaining a HMMWV won't be an issue for you. As for extended length off road excursions I would recommend bringing a spare GPC/TSU and PCB with you. Other than that, if...

Tail light issues on newly acquired m998

Instead of throwing parts at it you need to take a multimeter and test for power at the connectors to the lamp assemblies. The running lights are directly powered from the 3 toggle switch assembly. If you don't have power before the lamp assembly go to the switch and test for power. If you have...

    New style power steering pump

^that is a bearing tool. A steering wheel puller works perfectly.

    Need old non working pcb

I'm looking for a PCB,S3, or EESS to reverse engineer and simplify so that I might be able to offer a low cost fix to the problematic boxes. If I can do it then it should become a one time replacement that shouldn't have to ever be replaced again. Can someone point out which TM has the pilots...

    Hmmwv won't start

Did you disconnect the batteries before putting the new box in? If not then you fried the new box.

m998 200 AMP generator upgrade installed but is not charging

Verify voltage at the output at the generator. The volt meter may have been damaged due to the over voltage.
