I didn't replace the pump, its a long story I don't want to get into it, I didn't pull out the rod....so I have to take the whole unit out??

Okay weird question, How the heck do you reinstall the lift pump on the 6.2, I know its dumb to ask, but hey I was never from the 1980's. I know what the manual says, I just can't figure it out.

Well I'm a moron.....I put more fuel in it, and I got fuel out of the line that conects to the fuel pump, dang I should have thought of that, because now I have to put a new fuel line to the fuel pump, I tore it when I unbolted it. As for the lift pump, it works I put if on my work bentch and...

Well I have the line off the lift pump at the moment, thats where the air was bubbleing like I stated above.....but I think I'm going to go what what the both of your ideas. I'm going to put an additional 5 gallons in the fuel tank, and I'm going to suck the fuel up to the line where it conects...

To be honest no I haven't done that yet, I will now that you have said it. I'm sorry I should have went through your reply more carefully, I'm just kinda aggravated by this problem. I will test this tomorrow after I get out of work, and I will report my results.

Um If you read above, I had done that. I applied air pressure to the fuel tank and all i could see and hear was fuel bubbleing and a few drops of fuel spitting out, I did this 3 times. There is fuel in the tank, about 3 gallons.

Does any one have any input they could give me? I dont want to pull the fuel tank for it to lead to another dead end. Any help will be appreciated.

Okay I finely pulled the lift pump as far as I could......anyway I squeezed the lever and I could hear fuel being pushed to the filter. So then I pressured the fuel tank again with air, and here's where it gets fun. I could hear fuel/air gurgling. I do have fuel in the tank about 4 gallons. I...

I just had a thought, if my fuel pump turns out to be okay and it works. Isn't there a check valve in the fuel line, what is the possibility of it clogging?

Um thats where i was going with my question, What i was getting at that maybe who ever replaced the thermostat may have replaced it with one that allows more coolant into the engine (A colder thermostat) Some one may have done that because these engines can get a little hot. I remember reading...

I really don't see how it could be starting faster. Remember the engine has a injector pump....:D. I would think if it were leaking the truck would be running different. Awhile back my truck needed to have the fuel system bled, and the RPMs were a little jumpy.
