:ditto: Drock is right on. You may be jumping the gun in assuming its a head gasket gone bad. You said it held pressure for a short time. Were you unable to find any leaks while it was cold and under pressure? How long did it take for the pressure to bleed down? I did a pressure test on mine...
I've been dealing with a lot of the same. The "mechanic" that the PO took the truck to didn't have a clue. I'm still going through everything the "mechanic" touched..
I feel your pain! 90% of the work I've done to my M1009 has been repairing what a previous mechanic that didn't understand these trucks, messed up. I've been knocking things out as I see them but she left me sitting yesterday. Cheap starter and solenoid this time... I'll be replacing that soon...
Nice to see you getting her up to speed. I just got a M1009 a month ago and I absolutely love it! I've been running the wheels off it haha. Let me know if you ever come up towards Frederick, MD
Nice save JD! Love to see these old trucks saved from the scrap yard. And geez, even though you have some work to do $800 is an awesome deal! Wish I could get some deals like that haha! Can't wait to see the progress you make!
Thanks for your service and welcome to the site! Lots of great guys and info here! I'm sure some guys will come along and offer some good trailer suggestions for you
