I did a quick search and didn't find it but you can get a rebuild kit for the master cylinder from NAPA. Part number UP175 or from Raybestos. Part number MK175.
Mine did the same thing. Loosened and tightened it and it has been fine since. Mine started after I turned up the fuel a little bit. It was fine before.
Were the mep-017a's ever modified by the military for a 240v neutral mod? I got mine running and checking voltages it has 240 between L2 and L3 in 240v 2 wire single phase but checking further it reads 120 between L0 and L2 and L0 and L3. No neutral mod needed?
I think what you have is one of the old home built 24v DC welders. They built them with surplus aircraft generator.

I replaced it tonight and put ion two remote drain valves while I was at it. The old one is maked 150 psi. Just figured it would be better to replace. Hard to tell how old it is or how worn the spring has gotten.
Sounds good. I already picked one up at the local Tractor Supply. Just have to figure out the easiest way to get to it. Looks like it will be dropping the spare.
