    2 for 1 :) BEST fuel mileage/Engine Combo for a Deuce

I currently have PS on the brain... I've got a modded 2008 F250 6.4 and an International 7.3 (My bad... Thanks for pointing that out... although I know the difference, my fingers were too fast on the PS and my brain didn't catch that fact that I typed it in front of the idi... (long night last...

    2 for 1 :) BEST fuel mileage/Engine Combo for a Deuce

I'm considering doing a PS 7.3 idi, Automatic swap into my 53 Reo Gasser... Was wondering what combination people think is best the best all around combo... Also, I was wondering what the best Fuel mileage (if any :D) has been that people have gotten on a regular basis in their modified...

    M45a2 WLF

I've got a lot of documentation (photos and docs) that I've taken of mine that may do you some good... I've also collected a lot of pics from the net for documentation of what the originals looked like as well. A lot of good info. If you have a chance you might check out what I've collected to...

Weight carrying capacity of a bobbed deuce!?!

I will also be repowering with a fuel injected V8 351 Windsor with a 4 speed Auto.... This would mean that I need a higher pressure fuel pump than what I have currently on the deuce, so I'm going to be using the donor vehicles fuel tank and mount it between the frame rails (if possible). If...

Weight carrying capacity of a bobbed deuce!?!

Always happy to supply pics to keep a thread from becoming worthless! The one in black is playing at Redbird OHV park. The second is all cleaned up and repainted for the S.E.M.A. convention in Indy in 2005! Enjoy! Neil

Weight carrying capacity of a bobbed deuce!?!

It's not your standard cj2a! :) Custom built and scaled up to fit a Cj7 chassis. Approximately 14" of lift... 37" Boggers locked and ready to rock! But yes, you are correct a standard Cj2a is nowhere near 4200lbs!!! :-)

Weight carrying capacity of a bobbed deuce!?!

I'm not sure of the specifics of the tires, but they are the factory super singles that were on the older Deuce Fire Trucks... I think they are 11.00 r 20's... if memory serves me right... http://530B.letsgettwisted.com (if you want to see what I am starting with...) I was thinking of...

Weight carrying capacity of a bobbed deuce!?!

I was hoping to do the front springs approach or maybe get a new main leaf with eyes to add to the existing rear springs and remove a few leafs to get it to about 1/2 to 3/4 of what it currently would be. Then add appropriate spring mounts and hangers as needed. I would prefer to keep everything...

Weight carrying capacity of a bobbed deuce!?!

Hello!!! I'm looking to bob my deuce but am wondering if it will have the carrying capacity to carry my Willy's CJ2A Trail Rig. I would think it would, but I figured I'd ask those more in the know than I! I would have a custom bed that would center the Willy's over the rear axle. The weight of...

    Military Fire Trucks

Ok.... Looks like I'm headed down the road of having to keep my deuce and modify it to my needs. With this in mind, I ask those of you who have diss-assembled (not parted out with a bluetip torch! ;-) a '53 Reo with a FIREMASTER bed what the best way is to remove the Fire Bed and other items I...

M989 flatbed towing with 3/4 ton Super Duty... Is it doable?

The intent of my original post was whether or not it would be possible to disable the air brakes so I could tow it home if I won the bid. Not tow it loaded on a routine basis. After doing some research I found that using the factory 2 inch receiver and pintle adapter I could tow a total of...

    Military Fire Trucks

Got a real quick question for the Military Fire Truck folks out here! First off, I apologize in advance if this post is a little out of place... but I want it to get to those who might be very interested in this. Pics can be seen at: http://530B.letsgettwisted.com I have a 1954 Reo 530B Fire...

M989 flatbed towing with 3/4 ton Super Duty... Is it doable?

I appreciate all the great input on this! Other than the obvious braking system issue and after considering the weight of the trailer (~8k) and the dozer (10k), it would definitely exceed what I would consider safe to towing using a conventional weight distributing hitch with a pintle adapter...

M989 flatbed towing with 3/4 ton Super Duty... Is it doable?

Hello all! Im looking at bidding on a 1983or1984 M989 flatbed tomorrow... Question: is it possible to tow this home behind a 3/4 ton diesel pickup without air brakes? I know I can physically hook up to it and move it, but is not having air brakes present going to cause the trailer brakes to...
