Yup - that's what I have only yours are prettier. I used to prefer the wood to be painted but I've come around to natural look.
And I do appreciate you trekking out into the cold to gather that info.
It's 31° here in Raton NM. High yesterday was 65°.

I really appreciate it.
I had accumulated quite a few parts before my M37 was destroyed and not all were on the truck. Kept thinking someday I'd have another but it's too late in the game for that to happen. So these things will be sold.
NOTE: If anyone is considering reproducing...
Good info - thanks. Figured they had to be early because of leather vs webbing.
Follow-up question: These bows are for stake pockets that are about 65" center to center. Does that fit an M37 or is there a chance they are for something else like M715 or a WC or CCKW? To me 65" seems too wide...
Greetings
I have not been on SS since I sold my M1009 and M101A2. Previously I owned a '62 M37B1 w/winch and had slowly collected some parts for it. Sadly the M37 was totally destroyed in a building fire. The only MV I have left is an M416.
During a recent relocation a lot of M37 parts came...
As I recall the only other prototype that was actually built and tested was the wheeled version by Boeing and Goodyear. You are correct, the Boeing/Goodyear version won the trials and went on for further test & evaluation.
In house Cat propaganda claimed Cat/MM lost due to the MTS rubber...
I worked at Caterpillar Inc. My department developed Cat's "Mobile Track System" (MTS). MTS is a steel cable reinforced rubber track. It was developed for the "Challenger" series of ag tractors. The advantages of MTS rubber track over Cat's steel track were: (1) ability to road the machine...

Thanks for the reply. I made the assumption the vents had extension tubes routed up higher somewhere.
Found the transmission vent - just a small diameter plastic tube 2 to 3 inches long with no hose or valve.
Did not see anything on the t-case. Need to look again.
Whereabouts should I be looking for the outlet/discharge ends of M1009 vent lines for the transmission and transfer case?
This info is not in any of the TMs so far as I can see.
Thanks

Now you have insulted me by your characterization of me as anxious and scared - where in **** does that come from?
I do regret providing a less than perfect set of observations regarding the state of the cooling system. In my own defense, all I was looking for at that time was...
Your concern about incorrect info makes sense. I am not convinced about my need for an IR gun.
To backtrack - my initial reason for posting this was to get info on fan clutches to help me do the troubleshooting. The observations I reported initially were quick & dirty and misleading. The...
Skinny -
I'm ignorant in many areas and I know it. Unlike most in that category I'm willing to ask questions and learn. However, I am not willing to go out and buy an IR thermometer for this little problem.
If this thread is causing you a bunch of heartburn just ignore it.

I like the Suburban.
I've never owned a Suburban but lately have developed a craving for one. I have an M1009 and have a love/hate thing with the 6.2L engine.
Question: have you driven Suburbans with the 350 TBI enough to come up with an opinion on how the 350 gasser compares to the...
