Engine Oil & Filter Change - How Long for Pro?

Excellent. This is what I currently do. I typically idle around the lot and park it and then let it sit for a few more minutes. Thank you! Brent

Engine Oil & Filter Change - How Long for Pro?

Very helpful. I appreciate that. What do you think about cool down time (sit at idle after use), especially the turbo motors?

Engine Oil & Filter Change - How Long for Pro?

Thank you. Good to know. We usually let it warm-up for 10 minutes but it looks like you're recommending 18-30 minutes. Brent

Engine Oil & Filter Change - How Long for Pro?

Thank you. When you say the truck should idle X minutes every first start up, are you saying after we change the oil or anytime the truck is started from a "cold start"?

Engine Oil & Filter Change - How Long for Pro?

Simp, is the age of the oil really that important (assuming it's not years old) or is it mainly the usage (miles & hours)?

Engine Oil & Filter Change - How Long for Pro?

Thank you Simp. I just don't have the time, nor the interest, to do most maintenance on the truck. I would much rather outsource it to a pro that can knock it out in 30 minutes and save me a headache and time. Without a doubt, it's worth it to me. It looks as though a new oil filter is...

Engine Oil & Filter Change - How Long for Pro?

Awesome, thank you. The shop I'll bring it to charges ~$100/hr so I should factor ~$50 in labor to the total cost? Labor: $50 Engine Oil (20qt, Napa): $57 Engine Oil Filter (Napa): $37 TOTAL FOR ENGINE OIL CHANGE + FILTER:$144. If I'm missing anything, please let me know. Thank you, Brent

Engine Oil & Filter Change - How Long for Pro?

Guys, I'd like my M939A2 engine oil and filter changed. After a light trail ride I inspected under the chasis and I noticed the oil filter was leaking from the top. Probably time for an oil change. I also don't know how old the oil is but I had a mechanic look at it almost 12 months ago and...

M939 series transfer case low range / front axle engagement

My M925A2 t-case gives us grief when trying to shift it. I'll try making sure the button on the t-case handle is working properly 1st then I'll check the linkage adjustment. If neither of those work, I'll try the interlock solenoid valve knock-out (page 1-35 on operator's manual).

M939A2 Front Tire Hissing Sound (CTIS)? Video

Thanks MtnSnow. Let's assume there's a valve stem (insert) in position #1 and #2. Could I air up the tire manually on #2 position? I THINK all the tires have valve stems in them which is knocking the CTIS' functionality out.

M939A2 Front Tire Hissing Sound (CTIS)? Video

Ok, Here's a photo of my front right wheel w/the protective cover off. I see two valves stems there ("1" and "2" as I indicated on the photo). Question: 1) Is valve stem "1" the stem in which I can remove the CTIS hose to manually air up the tire? 2) What is valve stem "2" for? I'm...

CTIS System - Is it an all-or-none system?

Ok, I went and purchased a gladhand tire inflator (gladhand + 50' hose + inflator end piece) from a local Mack truck center. I hope it fits on the 5 ton! I'll try adding air to the tires soon. I used to add air via gas stations....it takes forever and it's so uncomfortable being under that...

CTIS System - Is it an all-or-none system?

Great point Jbulach. I'll try the manual method you mentioned (adding air via valve stem on the wheel valve). Thanks! Brent

CTIS System - Is it an all-or-none system?

Thank you everyone for your input. I have a front tire that I'd like to put air in but my CTIS is non-functional and the manual-fill air stem is deformed/damaged so I cannot manually add air from the "inside" of the tire. I think the CTIS isn't working due to valve stems in so I thought I could...
