    Repurpose old brush guard

goldneagle I kept the portion of the brush guard that I liked. I could have done the entire thing in the same pipe but I liked how it attached and functioned so I kept that part. I wanted to repurpose the original Brush Guard vs completely replace it.

    Repurpose old brush guard

Havok, Yes that is a rubber coupler that connects the two together. (ACE hardware) I don't have the full fording kit, I'm taking it little by little.

    Repurpose old brush guard

Action, Yes it rests on the airlift hoops.I put a non skid rubber pad between the two metals. no rattles and I didn't see a need to bolt it or pin it to the hoops. I guess for added strength in an actual accident I could drill holes and pin the two pieces together. I put it on there primarily so...

    Repurpose old brush guard

This weekend I took my old stock brush guard and turned it into something more stout. I cut what I didn't want off the old one and had some pipe bent. Then I notched out the old one and set the new pipe in.

    Paint job

Thanks 941038. Yes it is a spray can job. I had never done a satin paint before so I am glad I got the results I did. I will say it looks good from afar, but far from good when up close. but that was my sheer lack of proper surface prep since this paint shows all flaws. for what it is though, it...

    Paint job

The rear canopy/rack is designed to hold my kayak and give the truck a wagon look. I haven't decided what to cover it with. Ambulance top was too tall for my liking and would have required I use just that top. I will either skin it in metal, aluminum or canvas. I need to make sure it functions...

    Paint job

Thanks. I like how it turned out as well. Total cost was about $400. This is a paint and primer in one. It takes some getting used to, so do a test panel. You get one shot because you can't wet sand or buff out this type of paint. The hood is the most difficult. I had never painted with satin...
