Almost done restoring an 87 M936A1 Wrecker and was trying to find the Boom lever plates as well as the rear drag winch lever plates. The current ones are extremely faded and I would like to replace if possible but consistantly run into dead ends finding them. Would anyone have any for sale or...
Good morning, I have read vague posts about dialing in the fuel injection pumps for a bit better performance. Has anyone done this? I just purchased a brand new pump and looking to dial it in before installing. Are there any how to videos or is anyone willing to work on this pump? Any help is...
We swap out alot of cable / guy wires on communication towers and our main customers do not allow any metals from China to be installed due to the quality of steel used. I would stay away from it.
It drives fine on asphalt and does not feel like their locked at all, that being said, I have never been on the road with the front wheels engaged which is where I imagine you would feel it.
I was curios if someone might know if a 1987 M936A1 5 ton wrecker labeled USMC with super singles would come with air lockers? I read a post earlier on how to manually tell, but lifting the rear end up in the air and spinning tires just isn't in the cards this week. I didn't notice any badges...
I just recently purchased a fully operational 1987 M936A1 with extremely low miles and hours. Found it locally here in S. Florida. Came with a clear Florida title as well. The previous owner installed new tires all the way around including the spare. Front and rear winch lines were still packed...
Good morning, this is a log shot but was curious if anyone has fabricated a gooseneck style hitch to the rear of their 5 ton? Being a M936A1 wrecker, I know it cant sit over the axles as intended but was curious if it might be possible to fabricate and mount to the rear of the truck. Hoping...
Low Air Pressure buzzer wont shut off. Possible ear drum damage & permanent headache
Good morning, has anyone come across a bad low air pressure indicator? Installed a new compressor last week and the air system appears to be working fine. Primary and secondary tanks are holding about 123 lbs...
Hey guys I apologize for posting off topic, but you all seemed like you might be able to answer my question. I just purchased a M936A1 and I cant for the life of me figure out how to operate the front recovery winch. Any help from you wrecker owners would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Rick
I tried 100 different ways to Sunday over the weekend, but will try this again tomorrow, I believe the PTO was grinding a bit when I did this last. I appreciate the advice.
I want to thank everyone in advance for any help they might provide. I have scoured the internet looking for any information on how the front winch operates on a M936A1 wrecker. I have figured out the crane and rear winch but not the self recovery up front. If anyone could posssibly provide me...
Great advice, thank you. We did get it up in running after a 2.5 hr round trip to a hardware store. A handful of screws and some hose clamps later, we got it to hold enough pressure to release the parking brake. We fabricated a sheet metal heat deflector out of some old trash left in the woods...
