M939 Oil Change, Best Oil, Tips and Tricks

I know this is an older post - but I am having a terrible time keeping my oil filter assembly from leaking. Any advice is appreciated. I have an M939 and just replaced the canister filter and gasket. I feel dumb - that I can't figure this out. I put the gasket around the head assembly then...

    throttle linkage sticking???

I'm not sure of the problem - perhaps it is simply my throttle linkage sticking? Often when driving and hitting the accelerator, the engine revs up to maximum RPM's and won't decelerate when I take my foot off. I have to jump into neutral. The accelerator linkage looks ok - but it sticks...

    M939, no spring (parking) brakes

Not sure how the damage occurred but I ended up buying used parts from Eastern Surplus and finished the job today. Everything works great --- really thrilled to be back on the road. Thanks again.

    M939, no spring (parking) brakes

Help with Spring Brake - M939 I have a 1985 M939 and the guy I bought the truck said the spring brake wasn't working... bought the truck anyway only to find that someone had damaged it with a crow bar as if they were trying to get into the protective cover around the drive shaft and removed it...

    M939 No Spring Brake Ops - and...wow...

I have a 1985 M939 and the guy I bought the truck said the spring brake wasn't working... bought the truck anyway only to find that someone had damaged it with a crow bar as if they were trying to get it removed. It looks like the whole assembly that the drive shaft links into was pried open...
