Anybody have complaints about the chinese copies of this pump? I ordered off fleabay as seller offers $58/ delivered. Replacing this pump will be much cheaper than changing my priming thumb or starter. Any other tips to make this change go smoother? Thanks.

Solenoid retracts when the oil pressure builds, I believe. Just unscrew it and crank the engine to verify operation. I haven't loaded a container yet, but will fool with the roller guides when I do. Your description does sound plausible.
