LDS VS LDT and the real differences

Wow! What a thread! Twenty five pages to read through. My experiences: (all M35-A2's)1st truck with LDT-465-1C. No smoke. Great fuel mileage. Alot of noise. Slow as a rock. 2nd truck Ld-465 non turbo. A lot of smoke, no power, so-so fuel milage, pretty quiet. (had a muffler). 3rd...

    PA titling problem

I bought a M810 about 4 years ago and it took this long to get it ready for the road. So I gathered all my pictures, SF97, and Title Reassignment form and headed off to the PA DOT today. The rep there told me that they were unable to process/give a title due to PA not recognizing the...

    Re-Powering The Deuce With A 5-Ton LDS-465-1A Engine

I repowered my Deuce dump with a LDS engine about 2 years ago. Much better torque; hangs in on the hills much better. As for the differences, I think (I have not confirmed this) the pistons, cam, pump, injectors, and valve rockers (different ratio) are different. Of course not to leave out...

    New forum area?

Here's a thought to the administrators- would a "wanted to buy" or "WTB" section be helpful for those looking for parts/trucks/items?

Block heater - - Tank Style

I have a thermo-syphion zero-start on my duece. So far it works fine; it's 1500 watt. It seems faster to heat the engine than the freeze plug ones I have in my backhoe and my 5000 ford tractor. The backhoe and 5000 are dealer items from the manufacturer so I'm assuming they are sized right...

No More Political Avatars or Signatures or Slamming!!!

Chris, while I do not post very often I check the site multiple times a day to keep up to date. Perhaps another suggestion would be to be careful what our avatars depict. The old saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" holds very true. While none are offensive to me, a random viewer may...

    Deuce PTO seals

Does anyone have cross reference numbers for the seals for the deuce pto? The front output shaft seal on mine is shot. I'd like to have it on hand before I tear it down. Thanks, Rick

where to buy cummins glow plug?

Sephirothg, I missed your post on the 2nd somehow. I have an M35A2 with a Civvy dump conversion, multiple trailers and about 7 M35A2's in various stages of disassemble for parts. Also an M810 that had a military water tank on it. Where did you get your glow plug? I still need one and...

where to buy cummins glow plug?

I've tried NAPA but they must get them in a box of 6 I am told. I'm going to check Cummins next. There are online sources. Where in Trevorton are you? I'm about 20 miles south in Gratz.

    She ran away

My M810 when I got it had not been run for years the way it looked. I put fuel in it; bled everything and then we pulled it to start. It started easily; idled nicely until I "stabbed" the throttle and it ran away. I shut it off with the emergency shut off cable. Took off the pump; had it...

Crushing a Car with a Deuce.

It's a truck with 3 axles, 10 wheels, and all wheel drive made to haul stuff nearly anywhere you would want. I thought they made machines to crush cars? Forest was right "you can't fix stupid". My opinion.
