Revisiting an ancient post to provide specific answers based on the TM's. All item numbers are based on figure 10 in the -20P parts manual.
Hose #4 in figure 10, between the vacuum pump and the "T" fitting, #3, is 11/32" I.D. and is 2" long. (I use 3/8" fuel line without issue)
Hose #5 in...
I have had very good luck with Badger Diesel. Going on 5 years and the truck is running strong. He rebuilds them to current spec and IIRC highest output (unless you ask for something less). I actually had a hard time determining my replacement IP was a rebuild it was so clean. Great luck...
Yes, those 3 bulbs are the "dash lights".
If the printed circuit is too far gone you can buy a new replacement. Search for part number 25053623. One of mine had too many broken traces and was too delicate after 30+ years sitting in the sun. Installed a new one and have not looked back.
As Rick stated, more detailed images would be helpful, and the previous owner(s) did not do you any favors with the wiring.
A quick guess based on apparent wire diameter, color (gray) and location would be the 24V voltmeter light positive feed. GM used a button type brass connector which...
Gear Vendors 4x4 Lockout Issue Resolved
Resurrecting an old thread since I don't believe the issue with getting the 4x4 lockout feature to function properly on the Gear Vendors in a CUCV has ever been addressed.
RESOLUTION: The +12V feed to the overdrive computer must be connected to a source...

Vacuum Pump Alternatives
I'll start by stating I am NOT endorsing any of the approaches I am listing below. These are options I am exploring but have not yet tested. Proceed at your own risk
NAPA still lists two "rebuilt" pumps (call store for availability):Delphi "DEM NLVP1697" - 1...

100% agree with the advice you have so far received. I (and others on this site) have had good experiences with Badger Diesel in WI. They do great rebuild work and unless you specify otherwise will provide you with a unit tuned to maximum output.
Glad this is helpful. There is a ton of misinformation in the world. Happy that I am doing my small part to dispel it where possible. This exact same debate runs high in the Dodge world as well for what that is worth.
As for fluids, I would always go with what the latest recommendation is...
While I'm sure all of us here in the CUCV forum are willing to help. You might get more assistance in the M1078 forum: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/forumdisplay.php?119-Present-Conflict-Vehicles-TMs
All the best!
You are absolutely correct that things change. What we call gear oil today and what it was 75 years ago are not at all the same. The API has three current and three discontinued (as of 1995) grades of gear lubricant as it is more appropriately called. If you use a GL-5 rated oil in an...
