I have an M998 and the drivers side wiper arm is binding hard and then popping off of the ball. I have everything out and nothing is jumping out at me as to the cause. All of the bushings are fairly tight but not such that I can’t get them apart. The wiper arms are straight. The wiper on the...
I found the switch on eBay that already has the 3/4-16 threads. It is a Massey Ferguson Starter Safety Switch Part Number 181140M94 for $11.04 shipped free. Problem solved with a huge victory for us all! The wiring terminals are different but the non-ambulance HMMWVs do not come with the reverse...
My linkage wasn’t opening mine fully so I took it off and opened the valve fully. It still doesn’t get hot at all and I just put a new Cadillac Valve on it as the old one was bad keeping the fan fully engaged all of the time. I have not cleaned out my heater core either. Are they suggesting that...
Wrong O.D.

Looks right but doesn’t give O.D. measurements. If this is what it looks like and O.D. is 3/4”-16, mystical bushing busted without even cutting the length.
They emailed me back and said that...
Don and doghead, great work and research! You guys have totally convinced me that this IS the place to be to get help on my Humvee from intelligent individuals like yourselves. Take a bow. You either got tired of my griping or you like a challenge like me. Either way, great work men!
Voltage ratings are solely for the “insulation” or safety factor of any device. Current is your only concern here. I agree with doghead on using LED reverse lights to minimize current so that almost any switch would carry.
Very Impressed with your recent posts and research. THANK YOU!
Doghead, I never thought I would say this but “YOU ARE THE MAN!”. I hope you can see how many people your latest posts will help now that you understand what we need and why it’s not simply a shelf item or in the Tech Manual. Very...
A man that does his homework. I am impressed! You are confirming everything I am finding online. When sourcing this NSN, most sights are either out of stock or they ask you to fill out a form to request a quote. I am looking forward to Monday for once in my life. If I cannot source this bushing...
Would you mind sharing what you found or just letting us know you found it? What is the NSN for the bushing or switch and who has them for $30? Sort of reminds me of that commercial where the dental monitor finds the huge cavity and then goes to lunch-lol.
This is not using the “wrong” part. The reverse switch sells for $75 - $85 each and they are the exact NSS with this mystical bushing. The NSS sells for $5 without the bushing. There is no such thing as a reverse switch with the correct threads for the hole in the gear selector. Hence, no NSN...
You are correct sir. You are also very thorough and detailed in your responses and I, for one, greatly appreciate your in depth response to the mystical bushing. I have a friend who owns a hardware store and will be on the horn Monday with his suppliers trying to locate this bushing. If it was...
My mistake. I had already received a warning from you relating to the auction posting and I thought that was over. I didn’t know an infraction with a Point was to come later even though I didn’t do it again. You also mentioned the multiple threads in my “infraction” message so I got confused...
After careful mic measuring and a TPI gauge, I got the same thing last night but, like you, failed to find the bushing anywhere. I do not have a Lathe, however, I will be using a 3/4” - 16 compression fitting and boring out the center and tapping it to a 9/16” - 18. I paid $9.95 for a brand new...
That was the easy route but I am trying to make it as “normal” as possible as there are already enough switches to play with simply for the lights but thank you.
