I got a foot-long piece of matching thread pipe, and added a tractor exhaust cover. It sits flat on the end of the pipe, and when the gen starts the exhaust pressure opens it....easy peasy!

I normally run the MEP803 once a month for an hour. Am I wasting fuel?....is 30 minutes a month long enough? The remote start switch handles start-up and shut-down from the panel in the basement. I run the house, which is minimal, and 4 x 1500 watt milk house heaters to provide load...
I agree...I wasn't clear in the initial post. "There is a remote manual switch for the gen near the breaker box." I'll use the correct terminology next time. We're all still learning. :)

Case in point from previous experience...many consumer-grade security cameras go thru 'company' servers to provide their...
I feel like I'm swimming way over my head, but at least treading water!! :-) Reading the info on the Sol-Ark site...thanks!
I concur, rtrask....diesel for the 803 would be a painful last resort, but even now is extremely comfortable to have in the mix!
So...sitting here minding my own...
^^^^^ ....and that just annoys me ;-)
I'm admittedly a rank amateur. How would one run the massive output of the 803 into the battery bank?...is that the charge controller/ inverter function?
PS- I'm doing my on-line research, but been-there, done-that has it's advantages. I appreciate your...
