Need it moved within the next month. The upside is that is small and light? Will need to be insured. It is a 1969, a family friend is "sharing it"...
Kickdown circuit tested fine and worked. Very glad this crazy-priced thing which amounts to a small normally open switch worked.
If the thing won't go into 3rd on its own, modulator first since the switch is normally open anyway. The modulator is 100% mechanical and the cable did its job if...
Thanks, that was not my issue. It was simply not shifting into 3rd when in drive. Have not checked kickdown yet. Just wanted to shift into 3rd normally as a start...
The end of a long journey. Bought an auction HMMWV stating it had a bad tranny and wouldn't shift into 3rd. I thought, ok, it's the modulator cable. I'll replace it. (After confirming with members here...).
Drained the fluid, it was black and smelly and had water in it. Decided to rebuild, did...
The ones on the left are the correct Y to manifold gaskets (exhaust donuts). Fel Pro 60584. Previously mentioned donuts will not work - I bought them and tried. These are also cross-ref'd to a GM 454 engine if you want to know. How did we find them? The kid at Napa took the original to the stock...
My helper is just as feeble as I am! Instead, I traded a bout of crazy bad bursitis in my elbow for doing it myself. Totally dumb move. My elbow has been swollen for two weeks. (I have the strength but not the bursa sacks to support it.)

If you are referring to the ones which have two horizontal windows, many of them are "paddy" wagon but they don't have tops. They're essentially reinforced troop carriers. I had to take a second look myself. I am assuming that a few of the rear areas have tops but I couldn't tell for sure...
From Friday. More than a few Hmmwvs waiting on demil. Many had the steel boxes with windows. I guess those get cut up. One of the employees said that many of the MWOs were applied in 2009 and the engines looked and ran perfectly.
Here's what I noticed: There were a boatload. I couldn't tell if...
I've made it a practice to replace U-joints when replacing/rebuilding trannies. There are two different types U-joints!
They both have the same caps but what connects to the diffs are larger in format than the others. All of my U-joints in the most recent project were shot. I didn't hear them...
