What do you have? I've got an M1008, and maintain an M37 and Willys MB for a local organization.

I would like to host an MV event and give re-enactors a place to do their thing in the Charlotte area but I need to gauge interest. I have access to a small airport about 30 minutes outside of downtown Charlotte that's agreed to close operations for a couple days to allow for an MV event in 2023...

Has anyone weighed their M1008 in an empty configuration? I’m having a hard time buying the 5,900lb curb weight in the TM. Mines too modified to get an accurate OEM weight at this point. Also, does anyone know if they weighed them with or without fluids?

SaltyDog, do you have a thread showing what you've got going on with your batteries? Looks like everything has been relocated to the rear?

I’ve checked all the usual places, can’t find rebuild kits in stock. I plan to get a few good cores and rebuild them for spares if I can find the rebuild kits.

Third post this week.... I'm on a streak and I promise I'll stop after this one. Who makes a reputable replacement alternator? Can't find rebuild kits at the moment. I'm on my 2nd alternator attempt this week, both alternators were "CUCV M1008 Replacements".. Neither fit, the first was missing...

Thanks. Good info. I will pull the resistors. Its a nice bracket and I can certainly use it to mount other things.

Thanks for the input. I was just searching around an an NV4500 came up locally. 2WD unit, unknown condition, but its the 93 GM with the tall first gear. The case is completely covered in dirt/rust..... Asking price..... $1,500 firm. I'm sure that will sell just as quickly as the $35,000 square...

Unfortunately I purchased a set of Wellman's (DieselRX) BEFORE I read through all the info on this site. Now I know the 60G's seem to be the preferred go-to. I might just order the 60G's and keep the Wellman's as spares. I'll probably keep the resistors disabled as the truck starts perfect now...

Alright, I know a lot has been said on the subject and I’ve read the forums, but I gotta know, if these have been bypassed is there any point in taking them back to OE? For the record, my truck starts instantly, all the time, so I don’t need to do anything. Just curious about folks opinions...
