I had no issues on the width when I went through the process with my m998. Now, I got a funny look when they tested the horn. It is pretty weak for such a beast of a truck, as it sounded like it came off of a VW or something It passed though.

I found this under my M998 after I drove onto my trailer. It's eithet 3/8, or 7/16, with knurld end. It looks to me that a threaded end has broken off. Any ideas where this goes would be greatly appreciated!

The problem you describe is exactly the issue I am having as well. I have a new 60 amp alternator, and new batteries that are fully charged to 100%, and the output from the alt is 24.6 volts. When I bought my '87 M998, it had an aftermarket alt that charged the batteries fine. I'm not sure...
