    Head lights not working

I'd check the light switch first, make sure the dashlight lever isn't in the "park" position, you can tell easily if the front marker lights are on then it's in "park"!

    Multi fuel and the 1008 & 1009

A mix of what? these are diesel engines and never desisned to have "multifuel" capabilities, that said in the Army we ran DF1 (#1 diesel) DF2 (#2 diesel) and JP-8 (Jet A-1 aviation kerosene)

    How to remove carc

I'll add when sanding on CARC wear a good fitted respirator the dust from that stuff is BAD for ya! In the Army we were not supposed to paint more that 2 SQFT a day doing touchup's, that was being done outside with a respirator by brush, spray painting could not be done at unit level as it...

    Display colors or style?

Different color options would be nice, I have "red / green" color deficiency and have on occasion had to highlight text to read it, some colors for me just blend into the background making it impossible for me to read otherwise, and yes i'm getting to be in the old fart catagory!:???:

    55mph detonation post mortum. . .

Were those the last contract trucks? If yours has the tabbed gaskets than they used them until then on new builds, I know we were using the new style to repair engines in the early 90's to repair blown / leaking gaskets, IIRC the style was changed to seal the cylinders better and the oil &...

    55mph detonation post mortum. . .

OK Chuck here it is the only gasket available to me from DLA (Defense Logistics Agency) is the one piece gasket, the "black one" shown earlier, the "tabbed" 2 piece gasket has not been available from DLA more than the 10 years that I have been able to order from them, allmost every head gasket...

    55mph detonation post mortum. . .

Well you can salvage 5 pistons and liners, pan, oil pump and the external stuff etc but from the looks it really lunched it good. The "tabbed" head gaskets are what is in the picture, its that two piece style with a gasket and compression sealing rings, that is the style that is prone to...

    Correct M37 Engine Color???

You guys mean green and rusty isn't the correct color :-P

    M-43 questions

In Army units that is a big no! These are tactical ambulances, and in field medical units red / blue lights and sirens are not authorized, there was no need for them as evacuation in a combat zone you won't have to worry about "clearing traffic" to get to the aid station or CSH besides it's bad...

    55mph detonation post mortum. . .

After looking at the pic's all I can say is "HOLY CRAP BATMAN!" That puppy really let loose! I have gotten a couple in the shop that have let loose but not usually that bad, nine times out of ten we can do an inframe overhaul and put them back in service, but that one is toast!

Nope those would be the old style and prone to failure, might be worlds ahead and just change them before failure!:-(

    55mph detonation post mortum. . .

And another thought is it an old style head gasket or new style? If it's the old style it might be a precurser to failure, on the old style I'll see either oil or coolant leaks just before they let loose!

Try retorquing first then try looking for Barr's stop leak, all the engines I've gotten from depot rebuild have a jar of it in the engine can, when we install the rebuilt engine we pour it in the radiator and if there are minor leaks it will seal it up.
