    Brake fluid

What happens if a little DOT 3 gets mixed with DOT 5 as would happen if the DOT 3 was bled out and DOT 5 added until all bleeders ran purple?

Looking for a fuel filter gasket

I was there again Friday and John doesn't have them so I took your (and his) advice and made one from cork gasket material purchased from the local O'Reilly Auto Parts. Pretty simple - I just put the bowl on the material and ran an x-acto knife around it then put a spray can in the center of the...

Looking for a fuel filter gasket

I have an early M37 with the fuel filter mounted in front of the voltage regulator and I finally got an element for it but before I can try it out it I have to find the gasket that goes between the upper and lower halves of the filter canister. Does anyone know where I might find one? Thanks...

Can't get fuel sending unit to work.

I gave a 2nd ground a try but no help. The gauge jumps to just above empty when the ignition is switched on and the tank is full. It really seems to me like a mechanical problem with the sender. It's as if the float were just a little too heavy or the lever is binding when immersed in fuel.

Can't get fuel sending unit to work.

The senders came from AB Linn and A1 Army Supply and they are identical. I thought that maybe the float on first unit was defective so I bought the second but am having the same problem. The gauge is the metal connector style so it reads half when the lever is all the way up. I hope to replace...

Can't get fuel sending unit to work.

Thanks. I'll check the ground again but there is a ground from one of the sending unit mounting screws to the frame and the gauge operates fine when I test the sending unit out of the tank - I move the lever up and the gauge reads full then I move the lever down and the gauge reads empty...

Can't get fuel sending unit to work.

I've purchased 2 new fuel sending units and can't get either to work. I measured the resistance out of the tank at the sending unit and at the gauge and found both to work but installed in the tank neither works. It seems like the floats aren't buoyant enough to raise the levers but checked in a...

M37 tail light rebuild kit availability?

My tail lights are pretty corroded inside and I'd like to replace the springs and pigtails in the smaller (1251 bulb? ) sockets. Does anyone know where I can get these parts? I brought the sockets into my local NAPA and the guy just gave me a blank stare and said the he wasn't able to look the...

    My 1954 M37 Recovery

Nice truck! I got my M37 last October and it's been nothing but fun. I found it through craigslist and was lucky as it was only about 30 miles away and delivery was included in the deal. Can I ask how you found yours? I'd be tempted to leave the paint job but then I'm partial to red (and...

    m37 won't stay running, won't restart

I had a similar situation and it turned out to be a vacuum leak. I had replaced the fuel pump but hadn't reconnected the vacuum lines.
