Bringing this post back up as I didn't see any mention as to the front ends. Those of you that have taken the time to align the vehicles. Aside from removing all the shim plates from the rear and adjusting toe, what did you do to the front? What kind of final alignment specs did you end up with?
Yeah the 1000w block heater from Zerostart makes a world of difference. Regardless of climate, no diesel should ever be sold without a block heater. For what it costs I don't understand why they don't all have them, its dumbfounding to me.
That sounds like an interesting idea....
I bought the KDS box and sensor through Hummerpartsguy for $475 I think, id have to look at the invoice for sure, bought bunch of stuff.
Yeah I shot him a PM the other day asking him specifics and he never got back to me, not upset, I know he has a business to run..
I just ordered a KDS box this morning, figure its worth doing as im going to replace glow plugs too.
So by my research the original M998 springs I have are a spring rate of 954lbs in the front with a free height of 13.36", if I were to replace these with the springs from a winch truck that have a rate of 1250lbs and the same free height of 13.36" wouldn't this offer a very minimal change in...
The engine is angled? To me that makes no sense, if it was angled that would mean that the rear transfer case output would not be a straight shot to the differential. There is a reason that the T-Case has a offset front output, that's to compensate for the front diff being moved to one side or...
Looking for some information on replacement springs.
I am getting ready to go through my entire suspension and replace all the ball joints and steering components as preventative maintenance before I have the truck professionally aligned. In the near future I will be replacing the gutless 6.2...
Mine are stored during the winter as I don't want the salt to eat them but I drive one of them nearly daily in the summer, back and forth to work 30 miles each way pretty much everyday.
You have a part number for that unit? I was thinking of doing some upgrade to my '91 as it starts hard when its cold out. Does some weird **** when its under 35 degrees or so. WTS light will cycle as it should but engine wont continuously crank. Starter just disengages after about 1 second...
Mine does some weird **** when its really cold out. like below 30 degrees. The wait to start light will go on for longer as it should when its cold out and when I go to bump the motor over the starter will just disengage after about 1 second, it wont continue to crank. I usually have to bump...
I would assume that means you can use the pads for the '87 AMC eagle as well?
It appears that Autozone also carries the 10.5" rotors for the '92 H1 for $38.00 each as well, one would think those would be dimensionally the same to the OE 10.5" rotors on the Hmmwv.
Who has centered their front differential to allow for the use of the same half shaft in all four corners?
Any tips? Did you use any of the available kits? Does it provide room for the 12K brake conversion?
Thanks Guys, This group has been great since joining!
Thanks for the input guys. As far as the Cummins just sitting there, its honestly not a priority. Racing season has come to an end and its time to start rebuilding for next year. The Humvee will get worked on as I have time but just like with a race car, I prefer to start at the weakest link...
