    Shift Lever Interference

Here's the pics. Okay, here are some pics. The first is the interference in high first. The second pic is low third, and shows where the xfer case lever is relative to the hump. I would have more, but the battery on my phone died.

    Shift Lever Interference

That brings up an interesting question - how do most of you start out? I start an empty truck in first High. (Hence the annoyance of the interference.) But thinking back to my trucks on the farm with a "5 and 2" I always started an empty truck in low axle, went through all 5, then shifted the...

    Shift Lever Interference

I agree, a bushing would be a better repair. I was going quick and dirty getting ready for a Memorial Day outing, so I went with washers. It looks like there would still be interference if it were re-bushed. I'll get some pics this weekend.

    Shift Lever Interference

I have a '70 M35A2, and when I purchased it the xfer case shift lever wobbled around a LOT when in high, and the transmission shift lever would hit it when shifting into 1. I finally took it apart and shimmed up the xfer case shift lever so it stays put. I found that if I shimmed the right...

    Service and Emergency

Thanks for the rapid replies. I thought the trap door was to drain water after fording? I grew up on a farm with three 2-ton trucks, and a 1-ton. They all had the master cylinder under the floor, too. The glad hands are there; are these just labels for the glad hands? I have the TMs , and...

    Service and Emergency

I was cleaning up the tail lights on my '70 M35A2 when I noticed a round, flat surface (covered with CARC, of course) with a cut out stencil of the word "SERVICE" above it on the left side, inboard of the tail light and tucked up close to the bed. There is a similar object on the right side...

    Bridge weight markers

I took this up with an old college buddy who was a career man in the Army combat engineers. He said they used a formula that took into account axles, wheelbase, track, weight, etc., but couldn't find his old TM on it. I did find this post when researching bridge plates: Military-Vehicles: Re...

    Red seal engine

I was at the big antique car swap meet in Hershey PA several years ago and came up with the operation and maintenance manual for a Continental Red Seal tank engine dated April 1941. It is a 9 cylinder air-cooled radial. It's a neat book.

Its a windshield seal, thats all I know

I realize this is an old thread, but this may help someone in the future. In the M35 manuals, the top of the windshield hinge is sealed to the frame with the following part: SMRCODE PAOZZ, CAGEC 19207, Part # 8741839 Rubber, Round Section. I don't know the diameter, but I will be getting into...

Thanks to all for the valuable information. My goal is to purchase in late spring or early summer, so I will have plenty of time to read the forum threads and TMs. Thanks again.
