Newly Purchased M37 All New Drivetrain

I probably would have considered trading, but I have purchased all of the parts needed for the soft top, with the exception of the canvas.

Newly Purchased M37 All New Drivetrain

Actually, I do have a cage. Many of those guys don't and it scares me. This one will have a cage also. When I built my M715, I tried to get someone to build one for me. It was so expensive I invested in a JD2 bender. I do my own now. Picture of my Jeep cage is above. Ordered chrome moly...

    Electric M37

I am very interested and will be watching. I saw the Mike Brewer's show (Wheeler Dealers) regarding the EV West guys. They make some cool stuff. I also saw where a company is working with Ford to electrify the Mustang in the same way, still using the manual transmission. EV's are still...

Newly Purchased M37 All New Drivetrain

I have finally gotten some time to get out in the garage to get some work done. I have also ordered some parts that I need. I have ordered leaf spring axle perches, hangers and U-bolts from Ruff Stuff. I also ordered some leaf springs (2.5 inch Chevy) to replace the stock leaf springs. The...

Newly Purchased M37 All New Drivetrain

Haven't gotten any work done on the project, but I have been collecting some parts. I thought about running a more old school engine like a big block 440, but I have done two projects now with Chevy LS series engine (one 6.0 and and a 5.3), and I have a good understanding of how to make them...

Newly Purchased M37 All New Drivetrain

I just made a road trip to North Carolina to pick up a 53 M37. I picked it up at M Series Rebuild in Norwood. Those guys do some beautiful builds. Check them out. The truck I purchased is missing the engine, transmission, axle center sections, and the tailgate. It does have an original...

Need help, SBC, 700R4, Divorced 205 Conversion

I used the motor mounts that were in the truck from the SBC conversion that was mated to the stock transmission. I guess that means I need to lower the motor mounts, or make some new ones.

Need help, SBC, 700R4, Divorced 205 Conversion

Does the transmission on my truck look higher than those you have done? If I had the cab here I would test fit it, but it is a half hour away at the body shop. Thanks for helping out.

Need help, SBC, 700R4, Divorced 205 Conversion

Hey guys, I could use some help from those who have done engine conversions before. When I purchased my truck it had a SBC 350 with stock running gear. The firewall had been hammered in for clearance. I cut the motor mounts off the frame and moved them forward as far as practical. I used the...

    Brought another one home

The guy put the axles in and welded mounts under the frame at standard Chevy width. I haven't quite figured out what springs they are. I would guess GM, but they look a bit short to me. I have been selling parts off of it. I still have quite a bit. The frame and axles would actually be a...

    Brought another one home

I am always looking for parts and I ran across one with no engine or transmission. The guy had a nice divirced NP205 and had installed a Dana 44 and 14 bolt out of a 3/4 ton Chevy (4:10 gears). The body looked good and I wanted some parts so I bought it and decided to part it. I really wanted to...

    New guy from central Illinois

It has been a while since I last posted on progress. I have not had much time to work on it due to going back to work more than full time and......I have the CUCV axles under the truck after complete tear down and cleaning and painting. I purchased some 42 inch Goodyear MTR's and new wheels. I...

    715 pics

Very nice. I moved my front springs under the frame for a Dana 60 out of a CUCV. I like the way you used the old mounts and moved them under. It looks much more original than my fabbed spring mounts. Great looking truck.

Did you modify the stock front spring hangers to move them under the frame? Looks like the rear spring hangers are from Ruff Stuff - am I right? The truck looks great. I like the way the lights are mounted.
