    CUCV 1008,1009, 1028 prices.

My 1009 has been garage kept shortly after a new CARC paint job around 2015, and has only 57,000 miles, so I expect it would bring a premium price.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

If you get the door fitted too precisely, It won't look factory.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I was thinking about using a similar relay install for the problem of the slow wiper blades. Have you heard of anyone doing this or any other way of speeding up the blades?

What the Heck is This CUCV Part?

I don't consider that, the proportioning valve indicator light, very important as I have never known one to work on all the many square body trucks I have owned.

Batteries charged, but no panel lights or starter

I was driving down the road just before dark and all my lights went out. I limped home with just my add-on daytime running lights. I checked everything and couldn't find an obvious problem. I then unplugged the black out light swith and tactical running light and "presto" all lights worked again.

    Fuel issues

I think you are right about having to work on the vehicle yourself. Mine is costing a lot in labor when it needs something. I will sell it in the next year or so along with the other two vehicles and put that money down on a new replacement. If onlline ads are any indication my m1009's price is...

Proud new owner of 84 m1009 (body work update)

If you are not is real hurry to buy, I may have what you what. I plan to sell my three vehicles in an attempt to get down to one that can serve all my purposes. I have a 1986 m1009, mostly stock, with professionally applied CARC woodland camo paint, new weather stripping, all synthetic fluids...

Tips and advice for new owners

I have never replaced my harmonic balancer. It seems to be fine. I do think those really expensive ones, somewhere over $400.00, would reduce the engine vibrations better and may help the engine and seals to last longer.

Tips and advice for new owners

I replaced my leaky radiator with new $450.00 brass one identical to the original one. That was around six years ago and works great. I got it from a body shop auto parts supplier.

Tips and advice for new owners

Just as human beings can improve their heath and longevity, so can machines' lives and function be improved with some tweaking. The original designs of machines in all cases take into account costs, much of the time I prefer dependability. Also, the ---- I had install a starter shorted out my...

Tips and advice for new owners

First change the ignition key and door keys. Especially if still camo paint, install daytime led running lights on front. Put two new 1000 cca batteries in, preferably Caterpillar ones. Change all fluids to synthetics. Replace all filters. Fill fuel tank to full at every half tank mark and...

    M1009 as a daily driver

Mine is doing fine. It is time for it's first replacement set of front brake pads at 51,000 miles. It gets about 22 mpg at 50 to 55 mph. It was painted with CARC in 2014 and has been garaged since, so it still looks great. I am considering replacing it with something in the future that has...

    Reviving a parked M1009

Congrats on your new hobby!!!! I think you should check previous posts on alternator belts as the ones listed as correct do not fit correctly.

    Towing with M1009

Hitch bolts I read somewhere that it was rated at 3,000 lbs., but I have never pulled anything with it. However when the vehicle was stripped for painting and the bumpers and hitch removed for sandblasting, I noticed the hitch was held on by only non-graded bolts. I replaced these with grade...
