I had an issue of my tensioner hitting the water pump clutch. I replaced with a Gates K080680HD, It was close but didn't tap it anymore. Just now replaced the Alternator with a newer style from Jim Cox and now the belt is too loose and the tensioner is riding the clutch. The new alt came with...

simp5782, I ordered the dorman part, its a bit short. The line I have on the engine is about 22" long from the turbo to the block. The dorman part 625-212 is about 10" in length. I question if if whats on the engine even right, alot has been molested over the years. Photo below.

I am atrying hunt down the Oil Return flexable tube for the M939A2 Cummins, two bolt turbo side and o-ring engine side.. Ours started to leak, and after looking at it close some one before us has tried to seal it with somthing, maybe JB Weld. I have looked around and can't find a Part Number...

Jbulach, from your photos it looks like I have a different fan clutch. Mine dosnt have the spacer or distace to clear the tensioner. Thanks by the way. [emoji106] Sent from my LG-H931 using Tapatalk

Thanks, I'll be digging into it later. I am sure there is something bolted on incorrect.

It seems to never end, as I'm sure everyone knows already. After fixing a different problem, I started to hear a knocking noise. Turns out the belt tensioner is rubbing the fan clutch. I am not 100% sure how this thing is actually supposed to be installed, and am expecting it to be the wrong...

As Sue said, I have been doing this for a while on equipment and 5tons, no problem what so ever. Not really sure why so many people HAVE to have the convertors....Been used on buses for ages.
