YES! Just installed mine this weekend. A little more than some other tie downs at $56, but works amazing. You get 4' of rail per side with 4 tie downs that can be moved anywhere. FYI- L track is what they use in cargo planes to secure freight. Here is the best part, all the holes that hold...
I just picked up a 1990 International 6x6 dump truck, it is a former Navy truck. The factory pintle heigth is 36", which is too high for what I want to do with it, so I am thinking about a M series 5 ton hitch to mount to the rear of the truck to drop it down, just seems easier then building...
Neither had one, but they were both very helpful and I found on from D&L Bensinger, $65 plus shipping for a new reproduction unit. FYI- he was extremely helpful and has a lot of parts not on his website- https://www.dlbensinger.com/
I am looking for the bolt on M38 floor section, NOT a replacement floor and not the small transmission cover, the section that bolts in the tub around the transmission cover (the "cover' being the roughtly 6" x15" x3" cover). It is what would cover this huge hole in this picture. What is the...
I am looking at putting HMMWV wheels on my M38 Jeep because I want double beadlock wheels (I would weld in new centers due to the offset/bolt pattern). I know I don't need the strength of 24 bolt wheels and I would rather have 12 bolt rims, but you can find the 24 bolts surplus with nice 37" MTR...
So long story short: All safety devices are built to provide an increased level of safety for a given hazard level. No system provides complete safety in all scenarios- roll bars included. This is why people still get injured or killed on the job and on the road.
So what you need to ask...
Here is a 5 minute, quick and very crude drawing of a roll bar just to get an idea across. This would be very effective in low speed roll over and would still significantly increase protection in any roll. Just the basic tractor design. Make it out of 6" square tubing with a heavy wall, add some...
I read somewhere in one of the TM's (don't remember which one) that the factory fan consumes 13hp, so on a factory 130 hp motor that's 10% more power. More importantly diesels run better with more power when at temp, and deuces are rarely at the right temp in anything but hot weather. So you...
A 4x4 deuce will turn much better then a 6x6 (with equal wheelbases), due to the fact that the rear dual axles on a 6x6 fight each other (or the tires 'scrub' as the are dragged sideways) in a turn. Commercial trucks have an interaxle differential to prevent this; 2.5 tons do not.
Also, cargo...
Here is an old thread about this from 6 years ago.

The picture that started it is gone, so I reposted it here. Great looking truck.
I have heard this before, but I don't know who specifically has had this issue and why. My truck runs at 160 or less in 90-95 degree heat. I have a hard time beleiving that A/C will jump it past 200 degrees? Do you have more specifics?
