If you clean/rebuild your original in-tank pump, make sure to use submersible fuel hose and not regular hose… made that mistake once and it didn’t take long to swell up & cut off fuel flow as well as become a nasty mess to replace.
Were you able to buy the fuel-rated hose per the foot?

About 6yrs ago when i replaced the one in the M49A2C i called around and only one place had the hose on hand.. It only came as a 10ft coil . I feel severe residual monetary pain now that i mentioned it . IIRC it was around $100. o_O

I should pay my dues and sell the remaining 8 or 9 feet by the foot on here

Not for nothing, but since needing to repair my sending pump, I've hoarded and repaired them when given the opportunity. A lot of small parts actually.
A rough clean and letting sit in a cleaning solvent has worked well for the sending pumps and master cylinder.

Evaporust pretty cheap on amazon or Harbor Freight.

Like silverstate55 said, use the right material.
I've spent too long and created too many problems cutting corners and being cheap

Cheers

Yes, I had to buy 2 feet, IIRC it was from the Parker dealer in Las Vegas (NV). At the time it was around $35/ft.

If you're in a pinch and your fuel system is tight enough, you don't need an in-tank pump to drive the truck. Though it probably makes priming the fuel system a ton easier after a fuel filter change.

The M35A3 doesn't even use an in-tank pump - just the IP at the engine.
Disagree .

That old multi-fuel engine has just a little pump in the injection pump enough to make things go fine if you're just cruising around on flat ground in a parade with an empty truck that's fine, you go pulling a hill with a real load on eating fuel, and you're going to need that delivery pump in the tank, they didn't put it in there because they were bored, and they didn't put it in there JUST to prime the filters .

And the M35A3 has an entirely different engine in it .

Edit: "In a pinch" okay, I see what you're saying meow, I do agree with that .
